Who is Kobuko?
Kobuko is a Teamfight Tactics exclusive character based on the world of Runeterra. He is a 1-cost unit in Inkborn Fables with the Fortune and Bruiser traits. His ability, in line with his theme, revolves around getting stronger as you earn more gold. The Fortune trait he is a part of includes two other Yordles – Tristana and Teemo.
Kobuko is a bearded, round, and jolly Yordle with his hair tied in a ponytail. Described as someone who loves to express themselves through martial arts and dancing, he is happy to do anything to make you happy! His personality and cute appearance have quickly earned him a spot as a fan favorite.

Why Was Kobuko Created?
Kobuko, a robust and cheerful Yordle, was introduced to fulfill a crucial role in Teamfight Tactics. The game needed a new tank Yordle to establish the frontline for any Yordle or Yordle-adjacent trait, a role previously occupied by Amumu and Poppy. Using the same characters in every set led to stagnation and repetition, prompting the creation of our new favorite tank - Kobuko.
In addition to being a tank, Kobuko was designed to complement the Fortune trait. This trait, a fan favorite from the Fates set, was reintroduced with a high level of risk that can lead to substantial loot payouts. The challenge was to maintain the quality, fun, and nostalgia of the Fortune units while introducing a new character.
The creation of Kobuko also marked a collaboration with assets from other Riot titles, such as Mythmaker Zoe from Wild Rift. This collaboration not only enriched the TFT universe but also hinted at a promising future for the League of Legends family. The success of this collaboration gives the team confidence to pursue similar collaborations in the future.
