The Boys Season 4 is here, and people absolutely adore it so far! Without a doubt, we have been waiting for quite a while to see how the producers will develop the story of our favorite characters, and it's safe to say that a large portion of the viewers are not disappointed with the show. With its gore and brutal scenes, it comes as no surprise that Season 4 is considered by many to be the most intense part of the show that we have seen so far.

The finale of Season 4 Episode 5 was absolutely shocking, with Hughie making a very important and difficult decision. Although some people claim that Hugh Sr. was probably better off dying peacefully, his death in The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 was truly devastating. Especially for Hughie, since he was the one who was supposed to decide whether his father lived or died. Let's dive in!

The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 Why Hughie Had To Kill His Dad?
After Hugh Campbell Sr. responded negatively to the Compound V he was given in Episode 4, Hughie was forced to kill him in Episode 5. Although Hughie's dad seems fine at the beginning, it becomes clear that there is some sort of reaction caused by the drug. He becomes a Supe who can walk through objects and people, which leads to several casualties due to lack of control.
What makes it worse is the fact that Hugh doesn't remember anything he did and still believes that Hughie is a child. Daphne and Hughie decide that it's better to put him out of his misery than make him live a life full of confusion and danger. Ouch. Talk about tough decisions.
The Boys Season 4 Episode 5 The Death Of Hughie's Father
Hughie will probably suffer for a long time after The Boys Season 4 Episode 5, but everything that happened is most likely crucial for the development of his story and his character. Hughie is often regarded as softer than the rest of the team, but he is definitely learning how to make difficult decisions. Fans claim that if Hughie is capable of saying goodbye to his father this way, then he can probably make tough calls regarding Vought and Homelander.
Even though MM is currently the leader of the team, the others may be able to see Hughie calling the shots at some point. His maturity definitely sets him up to become a better and stronger character. We can't wait to see how Hughie will be treated from this moment on, but we hope that Simon Pegg's character is a high enough price for the others to start viewing Hughie as a leader.
