The Boys' Soldier Boy Spinoff Confirmed: Announced Plot and Cast

At San Diego Comic-Con 2024, The Boys had its own panel featuring the cast and the show's writer, Eric Kripke. During the panel, everyone discussed their experiences filming the series and shared their ideas. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played a significant role in The Boys Season 4, served as the MC of the panel and led the discussions throughout.

In addition to the fun interactions between the actors, Kripke shed light on his next project—a prequel to The Boys starring Soldier Boy. Find out all the details he revealed and what you can expect from the upcoming show. 

Fans were ecstatic to see Jensen Ackles come out on stage during The Boys' panel. In addition to his role in Season 5, Kripke revealed that Soldier Boy will get more chances to shine in an upcoming prequel. The title of the show is Vought Rising and will show us how the company came to be what it is today. Kripke explained that this spin-off was planned together with Gen V but was delayed until the producers could see how the first The Boys spin-off performed.

Vought Rising will be produced by Paul Grellong and Eric Kripke, in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios. The show has yet to start filming, so it's too early to discuss a release date. However, Kripke already shared what the show will be about and some insights on what to expect:

“We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys. It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V."

As it turns out, Jensen Ackles won't be the only main Supe returning to the screen. We will also see more of Aya Cash and her origin story. Given the details we have about the plot of the spinoff, it is safe to assume that we will also see the other heroes in Soldier Boy's Payback team.
