The First Descendant - The Issue With AFK Players

Fans are exhausted by players going AFK and then leeching mission experience and rewards. Let's take a look.

The First Descendant - Fans Complaining About AFK Players

The First Descendant is finally here, and it seems like fans can't get enough of the exciting missions and adventures ahead. There are 14 playable characters available and a good amount of weapons to choose from. The best news is that you can always improve your Descendants and guns even further, so you'll never get bored of them.

Although The First Descendant faced some criticism recently after its rocky launch and minor issues with monotonous boss mechanics, fans were more than ready to overlook the little hiccups here and there because the developers were always ready to take action. Currently, the most common complaint is that players are constantly going AFK and then jumping in right at the end of the mission to only collect rewards and mission experience.

Without a doubt, The First Descendant is not the only game having trouble with AFK players. Many looter shooters, such as Warframe, have dealt with their fair share of similar issues, and it's no surprise that it's happening here as well. Players are now flooding the Internet with complaints about those who play only to collect what others have earned.

This champ is following me on missions just to hide nearby AFK until 5 seconds before objective completion. When he should just damage one enemy and get the rewards. From the deepest of my heart, I hate you and all the problematic players in our community like you.

The First Descendant Player Suggestions

One person suggested allowing users to mark AFK players and essentially give them a warning. This means that if they don't move after a set time, the game kicks them out. However, there were mixed opinions when it comes to this solution since people are worried that a vote-to-kick option might be used for trivial reasons such as one person disliking someone else's character choice.

Originally, I was opposed to a vote kick because it can be easily abused, and typically, a solid AFK system tends to do the job. But after farming for Blair components all day, I changed my mind. Add the vote-to-kick option; there are too many leechers.

Many players compared The First Descendant to Warframe and asked the developers to think about implementing similar measures to stop those who are only looking to put in minimum effort and get all the rewards at the end. Warframe's system was praised by the community, and a lot of fans think that simply not rewarding inactive Descendants at the end of a mission would be enough. However, Nexon Games has not responded to any of the comments yet. For more information about The First Descendant, you can check out this article.
