Riot Games

Things are heating up for 2024 as Riot Games has announced a brand new Arena that will become the hub of eSports in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). The venue previously known as the LEC Studio will be renamed to the Riot Games Arena, meaning that League of Legends will not be the only eSport broadcast there.

This is very exciting news for all of the Riot Games fans as we will also be seeing Valorant and Team Fight Tactics (TFT) as a part of the project. The venue itself will offer an enhanced arena and fan experience with improvements to the broadcasting and production capabilities. We all know how amazing the LEC production has been so far, so it seems that we will be getting even more from our beloved games.

New Ways of Enjoying Riot Games in the EMEA Region

As per the official press release we will be seeing a lot of action in 2024:

The venue will predominantly host all League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) and VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA shows live with a full audience. In addition, it will have the ability to concurrently host other Riot Games EMEA Esports events remotely, including VALORANT Challengers Ascension, VALORANT EMEA Game Changers, EMEA Masters, and Team Fight Tactics (TFT) events.

Knowing how much polish Riot Games has in terms of their eSports domination, players and fans alike will be able to enjoy their favorite games and players even more, rooting for their favorite teams or just having fun whilst watching Riot Games eSports.

It is also important to point out that not only is the live audience being accounted for but also the viewers at home will also be getting an enhanced experience for their viewing pleasure.

When planning the refurbishment, we put player and fan needs and desires central to our decision making,” said Sarah Joynt Borger, Head of Media House for Riot Games EMEA. “On-site, we want to offer an experience that brings them into our worlds, immersing them more fully into Riot Games’ universes. With a large portion of our fan base watching from home, we also needed to put a lot of emphasis on the quality and diversity of our broadcast and production, to enhance their personal viewing experience.

In summary, this ambitious project will certainly lead to a lot more appreciation for all of the people responsible for making the LEC so entertaining over the past years, as things can only go up from here. We are looking forward to what Riot Games has in store for us for the competitive eSports 2024 Season.
