Official Statement

Recently NCSoft released a statement on X about Throne and Liberty players who organize Money Trading activities.

"We have been monitoring RMT activity within Throne and Liberty and have continued to issue enforcement actions on players engaging in prohibited activity. Any players impacted by these actions may see their Lucent balance go into the negative. Additionally, these players will be sanctioned, and access to the Auction House will be restricted until their Lucent balances are brought back into the positive. Players with negative Lucent Balance will also be ineligible to receive any Lucent from Guild Distributions, including any Lucent earned through PvP activities. To accompany these measures, we wanted to take a moment to reiterate our stance on RMT."

Sanctions

One of the immediate consequences for offenders includes their Lucent balance—Throne and Liberty’s in-game currency—going into the negative. The players who committed the offense need to restore their balance to a positive amount. Until that happens, these players will face additional sanctions, including restricted access to the Auction House.

Players with negative Lucent balances will also be stopped from receiving any Guild Distributions or Lucent earned through PvP activities.

The team behind Throne and Liberty promises a zero-tolerance approach to RMT. Offenders will face escalating punishments, determined by the severity of their actions and any prior infractions. In the worst possible cases, this could result in permanent bans from the game.

Spending Lucent which has been obtained through RMT won't save players from disciplinary measures. NCSoft will manage any illegally acquired currency and will remove it.

What's the reason?

NCSoft explains that RMT has a very negative impact on Throne and Liberty's ecosystem. It increases botting and fraudulent transactions. By taking serious measures, the Throne and Liberty team aims to ensure a fair playing field for all participants.
