Currently, in Warzone, one short-range weapon is dominating the scene. The Lachmann Sub (MP5) is leading with an 18.4% pick rate, followed by the ISO 45 at 8.6%, according to WZ Ranked.

The upcoming Season 5 Reloaded weapon balancing update will likely shake up the meta. However, this mid-season update doesn't just bring nerfs and buffs – it also introduces something new to discourage everyone from sticking to the same handful of SMGs.

Enter the Lachmann Shroud SMG, aiming to make a quick impact in both Warzone and MW2. Now, let's dive into how to unlock this fresh weapon.

To get the Lachmann Shroud, you need to complete the initial Sector E0 challenges in the Battle Pass and secure 30 operator hip-fire kills using SMGs.

The unlocking opportunity starts when Season 5 Reloaded kicks off on August 30.

Infinity Ward describes the Lachmann Shroud as a "stealthy and lethal 9mm submachine gun" featuring burst and semi-auto fire modes, offering mobility and stopping power up to mid-range.

Similar to the M13C and Fennec, the Lachmann Shroud includes an integrated suppressor. This is particularly exciting for fans who enjoyed the MP5 in Modern Warfare 2019, where the suppressor attachment was a favorite, but it wasn't available for the MW2 Lachmann Sub.

Additionally, it's been confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will reintroduce the classic minimap. This means suppressed weapon fire won't reveal players on the mini-map. Since MW2 weapons carry over to MW3, the integrated suppressor on the Lachmann Shroud becomes even more significant.
