Towards the twilight of Warzone 1's cycle, the Call of Duty battle royale became besieged by cheaters. A match on Verdansk was a gamble, as encountering aim bots, wallhacks, or even god mode was all too common.

The developers made attempts to quell the issue with enhancements to the Ricochet anti-cheat system for Warzone 2, designed to thwart cheaters before they could inflict substantial harm. However, the effectiveness of these measures is up for debate.

Substantial numbers of hackers have been banned, with a recent crackdown resulting in the removal of approximately 14,000 cheating accounts. Nonetheless, numerous players believe that Season 5 has brought forth a deteriorating situation.

Warzone 2 players are infuriated as the "hackdemic" sweeps through Season 5. If you sense that your Warzone matches are swarming with more cheaters, you're not the only one. A multitude of players have taken to social media to express their concerns regarding what they perceive as a fresh "hackdemic" within the battle royale.

One player exclaimed, "I've faced consecutive resurgence games against individuals using wallhacks and aim hacks. No doubt about it, they're cheaters." Another lamented, "It's been a relentless wave of cheaters for the past two days, with lobbies filled either with hardcore sweats or AFK droppers."

Some players speculated that the recent ban wave might be the cause, leading to a surge in new accounts from previously banned hackers. "It's likely that the banned hackers have created new accounts, and they're being far more brazen about their hacking," commented another player.

Others suggested that the anti-cheat measures had inexplicably "vanished," enabling hackers to assert dominance across both Warzone and multiplayer modes.

A disillusioned player added, "Tonight, I couldn't play a single game without a cheater ruining the lobby."

The rise in cheaters could potentially be attributed to the developers gearing up for another significant ban wave. The Ricochet anti-cheat system is still operational in the background and hasn't "disappeared" as some fear. We'll have to wait and witness the unfolding events.
