When Will Path of Exile 2 Officially Release?
Path of Exile 2's early access officially released on December 6th, 2024, and in the lead-up to the launch of the game, game director Jonathan Rogers was asked many times about when we can expect the release of the full game. In these interviews, his answer was "at least 6 months" and "between 6 and 12 months," with both of these estimates referring to the December 6th release of early access. From this information, we can expect Path of Exile 2 to fully release somewhere between April and December of 2025, unless there are more delays. Jonathan Rogers also said in one of the early access previews that "the rest of the game is 80% there," so a 2025 release is very likely to happen.

What Kind of New Content Can We Expect From the Full Release?
Once Path of Exile 2 fully releases, the game is going to have many more classes and ascendancies available. Right now, in early access, there are only 6 classes, with each of them having 2 choices of ascendancies (sub-classes), and once the game fully releases, players are going to be able to try out and experiment with 12 classes and a total of 36 ascendancies. Each of these classes is going to come with its own set of skills, and in true Path of Exile fashion, players are going to be able to mix and match everything, from weapons to skill gems and unique items, to create unthinkable builds.
Another thing that is going to be updated once the game fully releases is the campaign. In early access, players can currently play the first three Acts of the story twice, instead of there being the full six-act campaign. This is going to push the story forward, and it will make the game much more replayable, as doing the same Acts over and over is going to become quite repetitive in the next few months.
The final thing we can expect from the full release of Path of Exile 2 is the different seasonal leagues, which bring their own mechanics, unique items, bosses, and other fresh content for players to try out on a fresh economy. Even though the game is currently in early access, a big portion of the game is already playable, and the next few months of testing are going to allow the developers to fine-tune everything for the full release in 2025. The game is also going to be free-to-play once it officially launches!
