Jon M. Chu is back with another movie called Wicked, which was officially released in the United States on November 22, 2024. To say that fans are excited about it would be an understatement, considering that Ariana Grande stepped in to take her vocal talent to the big screen.
The movie is based on Gregory Maguire's book titled Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, and thankfully, the producers have planned to split this amazing story into two chapters. In this article, we'll go over everything we know about Wicked: Part 2 so far. Let's get started!

Wicked 2 Release Date & Cast
Universal Pictures is not only talking about creating a second part for Wicked, but they've also confirmed the date when we can expect to see it in theaters. Wicked 2 is scheduled to be officially released on November 21, 2025, in case there aren't any unexpected delays, of course. The best news is that the filming process has already wrapped in January 2024, as it took place at the same time as the first film, so even if some scenes need a reshoot, it shouldn't take too long.
Fortunately, we'll be seeing more of Ariana Grande and Cynthia Ervio in Wicked 2, as they will be returning for the main roles of Glinda and Elphaba. Considering that the movie was shot during the filming process of the first part, we're ready to see our favorite cast come together one more time, including all of the following actors:

Wicked 2 Potential Songs
Wicked 2 will allow us to dive back into the magical world of Glinda and Elphaba by exploring the events of The Wizard of Oz from the main protagonists' perspective. Naturally, the story will start from the ending of the first movie, when Elphaba gets declared as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda becomes Glinda the Good.
