Wild Rift: Players Mad at Riot Games for using AI in Sivir Debut

Wild Rift is Riot Games' mobile game that is centered around League of Legends champions as you can play a version of LoL on your mobile device. The game is targeted towards casual players who just want to enjoy Summoner's Rift without any unnecessary stress or anxiety.

Wild Rift Sivir AI Voiceover Controversy

Following the release of the new short video, fans of the game were quick to point out the out-of-place pronunciation of the champion's name along with the rather robotic enunciation. Players quickly found out that Riot Games had cut some corners and went with an AI Voiceover for Sivir's showcase, which was met with harsh criticism from the community.

Community Reaction

As you can guess, many players were disappointed by this decision. Despite the overall quality of the game, it seems to be lacking in terms of its marketing and media presentation on social media. It looks like Riot's laziness wasn't going to go unpunished by the community. 

Hopefully, Rioters learn from this mistake and redeem themselves as there is a worrying trend in the gaming industry that more and more developers are trying to take the easy route of only using AI Voiceovers. 

It is quite surprising to see so many players frustrated at this hiccup as they fear that things will only go downhill for the game overall.
