The upcoming JRPG sequel Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth brings players back into the vibrant world of protagonist Ichiban Kasuga. However, Nintendo Switch owners may be disappointed to learn that the game will not be released on their platform of choice. Here's everything we know so far!
Will Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Be On Nintendo Switch?
Except for a Wii U port exclusive to Japan, the Like a Dragon series has seldom been available on Nintendo consoles. Series producer Masayoshi Yokoyama once claimed the games' mature content was at odds with Nintendo's family-friendly image. So, unfortunately Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth won't be available on Nintendo Switch.

Why Is Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth Not Coming to Nintendo Switch?
There are a few other reasons why Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth will not be available on Nintendo Switch:
- Technical Limitations
With its complex graphics and gameplay, Infinite Wealth likely surpasses the Switch's technical capabilities. The game was built to take full advantage of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, pushing the boundaries beyond what the aging Switch can handle.
- Core Audience on PlayStation and Xbox
The series also caters to a more PlayStation and Xbox-centric audience. Like a Dragon sold nearly 3 million copies on PS4 alone. While the Switch's install base cannot be ignored, SEGA is playing to its core fans first.

Still, fans should not rule out a Cloud Version or next-gen port in the future. The original Like a Dragon came to Xbox Game Pass and xCloud, showing flexibility. As the Switch successors improve technical prowess, the series could one day make its debut on the platform.
For now, players eager for Ichiban's newest adventures will need access to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X/S when Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches in early 2024. The game promises to build on its precursor's blend of action, laughs, and drama for all but Nintendo fans.
