WoW Cataclysm Classic: Healer PvE Tier List

To kick things off, we will be taking a look at the Holy spec as most players can agree that Priests as a class excel in healing, however, the Holy Priests suffer from several drawbacks that make them not as optimal as other healers. 

PROS:

• Amazing raw healing and AoE sustain
• Decent cooldowns as Guardian Spirit and Divine Hymn bring a lot to the table with some raid utility Hymn of Hope and Mass Dispel

CONS:

• Mana issues as Shadowfiend is sometimes not enough to ensure that you have a constant supply of mana
• AoE healing is far better than single-target

Resto Shamans are an incredible choice for raiders as not only do they offer a lot of utility from their spells and healing, but totems as a whole are an amazing way to further enhance and smoothen out any sharp edges in terms of difficult encounters.

PROS:

• Amazing raid-wide utility and buffs with Spirit Link Totem, Bloodlust, and Ancestral Healing all give some much-needed help in difficult fights
•  Great AoE healing and mana sustain through Mana Tide Totem 

CONS: 

• Resto Shamans are a jack-of-all-trades bringing everything to the table, but not excelling in any aspect
• Lack of any significant cooldowns and inefficient single-target healing

Resto Druids shine with their mobility, mana-efficient single-target healing as well as great AoE abilities that can save most players in a pinch. 

PROS:

• Very efficient healing abilities as well as decent raid utility Tree of Life 
• Amazing AoE heals and single-target over-time effects Tranquility

CONS:

• Lack of interesting raid-wide utility Stampeding Roar 
• Can struggle to maintain decent healing in stacked AoE encounters 

Holy Paladins are an amazing pick when it comes to healing as the massive Paladin changes in Cataclysm make them incredible, especially in AoE situations.

PROS:

• Incredible cooldowns Avenging Wrath, Divine Plea, Guardian of Ancient Kings, AoE healing Beacon of Light and raid-wide utility and buffs Divine Shield, Aura Mastery 
• Great scaling into later phases of Cataclysm

CONS:

• Can struggle with mana problems if not positioned accordingly
• Single-target healing can feel weak at times

Not only are Discipline Priests one of the best healers in Cataclysm, but the mere fact that you will also be dealing damage makes this spec twice as efficient. Although not a traditional healer class as you will rather focus on damage mitigation, this spec is still incredible.

PROS:

• Amazing cooldowns for both AoE and single-target encounters Pain Suppression, Power Word: Barrier and raid utility Power Infusion, Leap of Faith
• Constant stream of damage and healing due to Atonement 

CONS: 

• Playstyle may be challenging at first for beginners
• Mana issues may occur if Rapture is not used effectively
