How Do Follower Dungeons Work

  • The AI-controlled NPCs will fill any missing roles in the party. The composition of these AI characters depends on the roles chosen by players when joining.
  • The NPCs in Follower Dungeons include a mix of different classes and factions, such as a Human Protection Paladin as a tank, a Tauren Restoration Druid as a healer, and various DPS classes.
  • These AI companions behave like typical party members, offering buffs and even a mage table in the beginning of the dungeon.

Follower Dungeons List

You can enable Follower Dungeons for all of the 8 original dungeons introduced in the Dragonflight expansion.

  • Ruby Life Pools
  • Nokhud Offensive
  • Brackenhide Hollow
  • Halls of Infusion
  • Algeth’ar Academy
  • Neltharus
  • The Azure Vault
  • Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr

  • Players can access Follower Dungeons through the Group Finder, where a special dungeon queue similar to holiday and timewalking dungeon queues is available.
  • Groups of up to four players can queue, with a minimum character level requirement of 61. There's no minimum gear level required, making it accessible to a broader range of players.

How to Navigate the Follower Dungeons

Once you're inside one of these dungeons, you get to decide how you want to approach the adventure. You have three choices:

  • Lead the party yourself.
  • Let another player in your group take the lead.
  • Be guided by one of the NPC followers in your party.

To let the NPCs guide you, simply toggle on the “Dungeon Assistance” feature. This allows your AI companions to lead the way, setting the pace for the dungeon run. This feature is particularly helpful if you're new to the dungeon or just want to experience it in a more relaxed manner.

If you decide you want to take control again, you can easily switch off the Dungeon Assistance. This is done by clicking on the updated selection in the center of your screen. When you do this, you or another player can resume leading the group.

What is the Point of Follower Dungeons

Follower Dungeons are not designed to teach players how to play new classes or roles actively. They don't provide feedback on player performance, requiring players to self-assess and research to improve. However, they offer a great opportunity for self-directed learning and practicing with unfamiliar classes or roles. These dungeons allow players to familiarize themselves with dungeon layouts, boss mechanics, and the overall feel of the instance without the pressure of a regular LFG party.

That concludes our guide on the Follower Dungeons in Patch 10.2.5. They offer a fresh perspective on dungeon running, providing opportunities for learning, practice, and enjoyment in a more relaxed setting. With the ability to choose how you navigate these dungeons, players gain greater control over their gaming experience. For more World of Warcraft guides, check the rest of our website.
