Discoveries
WoW's Season of Discovery might appear similar to regular Classic WoW initially. At approximately level 2, your class trainer will task you with a quest to find a rune. Following this initial quest, you'll be left to discover additional 'discoveries,' which won't be marked on the map. This introduces an exploratory aspect to the game, revealing hidden locations for adventurous exploration. Greenfield anticipates that players will form in-game and offline social groups to unveil more runes.

Rune Engraving
Rune Engraving is a big part of the new expansion. It's a skill that all characters automatically learn right from the start when they're created. This skill lets players collect and use runes for their character's gear. At the beginning, they can be added to chest, legs, and glove gear. As your character levels up, more gear slots become available.
These abilities, called runes, stay on your gear forever and won't disappear. You can add or change them when you're not in a fight. They work separately from the WoW Talent System, so you can mix abilities for damage, healing, and more. For example, if your group needs a Tank, using Tank Runes can change how your character works. Some runes give special bonuses that were only for certain groups before, like paladins and shamans.
All class combinations can be found in this article.
