World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 4 has a lot of surprises in store for the players as the dev team recently came out with a very extensive preview of what's to come. Not only will players finally have access to endgame content, but also new runes, abilities, items, and many more changes that will enhance the Vanilla WoW experience.

One of the major topics was regarding raiding in Phase 4 of SoD as the devs introduced revamped classic instances and turned them into difficult raids with challenging mechanics and sweet new loot for players to enjoy. This time around, Phase 4 will contain all of the beloved raids players have grown up with, but with some very exciting twists. Let's take a look at some of the updates coming your way.

Molten Core is set to be a very fun experience for players both old and new. The community is surely to have a blast defeating the mighty Ragnaros. Here are some of the expected changes coming to the raid:

  • 20-Player Raid
  • 11 Bosses
  • Fully Revamped Tier 1 Sets
  • Revamped Offset Items
  • Scaling Difficulties

Not only will the original 40-man raid will be reduced to a mere 20, but it seems that new bosses will be added as well so players will need to be on their toes when going into the Molten Core.

Another exciting feature is the addition of different difficulties. In essence, the higher-difficulty raid will offer a bigger challenge for more rewards. This is great news, meaning that players who are more casual will get the same items veteran players will, just at a slower pace.

Another thing worth noting is that the dev team is considering having two weekly raid lockouts for Phase 4. Although these changes are not set in stone, we might see the WoW Classic team try it out to see what the community sentiment is. The raid lockouts will be separated between the regions as follows:

North America and Europe Raid Lockouts:

  • Tuesdays
  • Saturdays

Asia Raid Lockouts:

  • Wednesdays
  • Sundays

The first raids that will be available at the start of Season of Discovery Phase 4 will be Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair on July 25 at 1:00 p.m. PDT globally. And that covers most of the important changes possibly coming to World of Warcraft SoD Phase 4
