WoW SoD December 4 Hotfix Changes

As per the blue post posted by Blizzard Entertainment, we can see a lot of quality-of-life changes to the game, mostly focusing on unfair rune discovery mechanics and resolving unintentional bugs. It is encouraging to see how fast the developers are reacting to the issues found by the many players roaming and questing around trying to find all of the new content in WoW SoD.

WoW SoD December 4 Hotfix Warlock Tank Rune Fix

Most notably, the Warlock Tank Rune Metamorphosis can now be claimed without having to do the new Blackfathom Deeps 10-man raid:

  • Players questing for “The Orb of Soran’ruk” will now find that The Twilight’s Hammer have invaded the shores of The Zoram Strand near Blackfathom Deeps.

Developers’ notes: It wasn’t our original intent for discoveries to take you into raid instances. Now, the enemies needed for completion of a pre-requisitequest for a rune are both in the outdoor world and inside the raid.

This is a much-needed change as many players complained about the unwarranted difficulty obtaining this rune proved.

Another great change is the ability to be able to carry multiple filled Waylaid Supply Shipment crates in your inventory so you can stack them and turn them in to minimize unnecessary back-and-forths:

  • Your bags can now carry multiple filled Supply Shipment crates.

Although some players are noting that it would be a good QoL change to also allow to carry one of each Waylaid Supply item as currently, you can carry only one unfilled shipment crate at a time.

Final Thoughts

World of Warcraft Season of Discovery is looking to restore the beloved franchise to its glory as one of the best multiplayer games and the new direction Blizzard is taking regarding heading the community's feedback is refreshing to see after years of rather unfavorable opinions for the way expansions were being rolled out.

Hopefully, Blizzard Entertainment will start adjusting the meta and balance of the game further in Phase 1, as we can see players already finding ways to abuse and exploit powerful builds and strategies, for example, the infamous Hunter pet Scorpid poison damage being way too strong.
