World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 1 will have 12 different runes for each of the classes in the game. We will be providing updates as soon as we have more information regarding the Druid runes and their locations. Given the incredible interest from players for WoW SoD, we will most probably find out a lot of new changes and content in Azeroth.

We will be taking a look at all of the runes and their locations so you can fully optimize your builds and find your unique playstyle in WoW Classic+. Let's get started!

WoW SoD Druid Runes & Locations

Living Seed

Living Seed Rune - Chest

When you critically heal your target with any healing spell you plant a Living Seed on the target for 30% of the amount healed. The Living Seed will bloom when the target is next attacked. Lasts 15 sec.

Living Seed Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to loot 3 Prairie Flowers to combine them into a Prairie Crown. You will then need to find the Wooden Effigy mob (coordinates 37.7, 49.5) and place the crown on it. After which, a Level 7 Elite Mob will spawn that you need to defeat to get the rune.
  • Night Elf: You will need to loot 3 Glade Flowers to combine them into a Flower Crown. You will then need to find the Wooden Idol mob (coordinates 66.9, 57.5) and place the crown on it. After which, a Level 7 Elite Mob will spawn that you need to defeat to get the rune.

Wild Strikes Rune - Chest

While you are in Cat Form, Bear Form, or Dire Bear Form, party members within 20 yards gain increased combat ferocity.  Each melee hit has a 20% chance of granting the attacker an extra attack with 20% additional Attack Power. No effect if the party member is already benefitting from Windfury Totem.

Wild Strikes Rune Locations

  • Alliance & Horde: Kill Grimtotem Ruffian at the southeast entrance to Stonetalon Mountains. Other Grimtotem enemies work too.
Rune

Fury of Stormrage Rune - Chest

Reduces the mana cost of Wrath by 100% and each time you deal damage with Wrath you have a 12% chance for your next cast of Healing Touch within 15 sec to be instant.

(Proc chance: 12%)

Fury of Stormrage Rune Locations

  • Tauren: Level 4 is required. You will need to loot the Chest in Bramleblade Ravine (coordinates X61, Y76) to get a Lunar Idol. Once you use this item, you will need to defeat 6 enemies that have been affected by your Moonfire ability. Once completed, use the item again and you will receive the rune.
  • Night Elf: Level 4 is required. You will need to grab the quest from the Druid trainer in the starting zone and kill Grell needed for the moss collection quest. Once completed, you will get the Lunar Idol. After killing 6 mobs affected by Moonfire, use the Lunar Idol again and you will get the rune.

Survival of the Fittest Rune - Chest

Reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by 6% and reduces all damage taken by 10%. Damage taken reduced by an additional 10% while in Bear Form or Dire Bear Form.

Survival of the Fittest Rune Locations

  • Alliance & Horde: 
  1. Go to Ratchet in the Barrens and talk to Grizzby in the Inn. For his quests, you have to collect the following materials:
  • 24x Fish Oil (Murlocs and Naga from e.g. Hillsbrad Foothills).
  • 20x Dark Iron Ordinance (drops from Dark Iron Dwarfs in Wetlands).
  • 16x Shredder Turbocharger (Crafted by Engineering. Recipe is a drop from Sneed in Deadmines).

Starsurge Rune - Legs

3% of base mana, 35 yd range
Instant cast, 10-sec cooldown

Launch surging stellar energies that causes (135/100 *) to (165/100 *) Arcane damage. Starsurge benefits from and triggers most talents and effects that trigger or benefit from Wrath or Starfire.

Starsurge Rune Locations

  • Alliance & Horde:
  1. Visit a Dwarf in Wetlands at (coordinates 36, 15) He hands you a Marshroom.
  2. Go to the pool at (coordinates 31, 18) and eat the mushroom.
  3. Speak to the frog, to get the rune.

Lifebloom Rune - Legs

28% of base mana, 40 yd range
Instant cast

Heals the target for (4 / 100 * 7 *) over 7 sec.  When Lifebloom completes its duration or is dispelled, the target instantly heals for (57 / 100 *) and the Druid regains half the cost of the spell.  This effect can stack up to 3 times on the same target.

Lifebloom Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to speak to the corpse (coordinates 60,33) to begin a ritual. You will need other party members to finish the ritual.  A spirit will then spawn that will award you with the rune.
  • Night Elf:  You will need to speak to a corpse (coordinates 33,35) on the North side of Teldrassil where there is a skeleton on the floor next to the Harpies. You will need to click on it and then a summon will occur for which you will need another player in a group to help you finish the ritual. A spirit will then spawn that will award you with the rune.
Rune

Skull Bash Rune - Legs

25 Energy/10 Rage, 13 yd range
Instant cast, 10-sec cooldown
Requires Cat Form, Bear Form, Dire Bear Form

Charge to a target within 13 yards and bash the target's skull, interrupting spellcasting and preventing any spell in that school from being cast for 2 sec. Shares a cooldown with Feral Charge.

Skull Bash Rune Locations

  •  Alliance: Can be purchased from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction for 4 Gold 50 Silver once Honored has been achieved.
  •  Horde: Can be purchased from the Durotar Supply and Logistics faction for 4 Gold 50 Silver once Honored has been achieved.

Savage Roar Rune - Legs

25 Energy, 100 yd range
Instant cast

Finishing move that increases physical damage done by 30% while in Cat Form.  Lasts longer per combo point:
  1 point: 14 seconds
  2 points: 19 seconds
  3 points: 24 seconds
  4 points: 29 seconds
  5 points: 34 seconds

Savage Roar Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to open Kolkar's Booty Chests to find the Ferocious Idol. Once you have equipped it, you will need to deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids. Once completed, use the Ferocious Idol again and you will get the rune
  • Night Elf:  You will need to defeat Den Mother to get the Ferocious Idol. Once you have equipped it, you will need to deal 20 instances of bleeding damage to humanoids. Once completed, use the Ferocious Idol again and you will get the rune.

Sunfire Rune - Gloves

21% of base mana, 30 yd range
Instant cast

Burns the enemy for (130*/100) to (152*/100) Nature damage and then an additional (65* 4*/100) Nature damage over 12 sec.

Sunfire Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to find three white Lunar Stones (coordinates 35.72,69.61) and cast Moonfire on all three of them. A chest will then appear containing the rune inside.
  • Night Elf: You will need to find three white Lunar Stones (coordinates 63.2, 64.2) and cast Moonfire on all three of them. A chest will then appear containing the rune inside.
Runes

Lacerate Rune - Gloves

15 Rage, Melee Range
Instant cast
Requires Bear Form, Dire Bear Form

Lacerates the enemy target, making them bleed for (*20/100*5) damage over 15 sec plus 20% weapon damage per existing application of Lacerate on the target. Causes a high amount of threat. This effect stacks up to 5 times on the same target.

Lacerate Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to take eggs (coordinates 44,22 to 48,40) between two ponds
  • Night Elf: You will need to feed bait from Furlbogs to Crabs in Darkshore.

Wild Growth Rune - Gloves

56% of base mana, 40 yd range
Instant Cast, 6-sec cooldown

Heals all of target player's party members within 40 yards of target player for (34/100*7*) over 7 sec. The amount healed is applied quickly at first, and slows down as Wild Growth reaches its full duration.

Wild Growth Rune Locations

  • Alliance & Horde:
  1. Go to Ashenvale (coordinates 89, 41). Activate the owl statue to start the event. 6 waves of 2 level 25 enemies will attack you.
  2. Go to the Twilight Grove at (coordinates 50, 35) Kill the boar Agon, after you’ve interacted with the statue.
  3. Go to Hillsbrad Foothills and activate the statues coordinates (36, 75) and (53, 81). You have only two minutes to activate the second statue.

Teleport to Moonglade and bring all 3 symbols to the Druid trainer.

Mangle Rune - Gloves

Gain the Mangle (Bear) ability and replace your Claw ability with Mangle (Cat). This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.

Mangle (Bear)

Mangle the target for 160% normal damage and cause the target to take 30% additional damage from Bleed effects and Shred for 1 min. This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.

Mangle (Cat)

Mangle the target for 300% normal damage and cause the target to take 30% additional damage from Bleed effects and Shred for 1 min.  Awards 1 combo point. This ability benefits from and triggers all effects associated with Claw and Maul.

Mangle Rune Locations

  • Tauren: You will need to obtain the Idol of Ursine Rage from a Flatland Prowler in Mulgore. Once you obtain the item, you will need to remain at over 50 rage for at least 60 seconds to get the rune.
  • Night Elf: You will need to obtain the Idol of Ursine Rage from Rageclaw in Teldrassil. Once you obtain the item, you will need to remain at over 50 rage for at least 60 seconds to get the rune.
