World of Warcraft Season of Discovery allowed for some classes to take up new roles in the game through the new runes that were added for Phase 1. We will be taking a look at all of the classes and specs so you can see which will best fit your play style and your
Since Blizzard devs are fast to react to any overpowered abilities and items, the meta can shift from week to week, but we will take a look at the best picks currently so you start grinding your Honor level.
With that being said, let's get to fighting!

WoW SoD S Tier PvP Classes and Specs
All of these rankings are subject to change as the devs usually adjust most of the class imbalances every week by carrying out new patches to stop players from abusing overpowered strategies.
Although this tier list is subjective, you can use it as a stepping stone to get a better understanding of how certain classes function in PvP encounters.
Beast Mastery Hunter
Hunters have always been amazing at dishing out damage, and with the recent meta discovery of Scorpids, Hunters seem way too strong, but thankfully Blizzard quickly reacted to it. Nevertheless, Hunters are very good at duelling and Open World PvP as their range and mobility offer a lot of power in skirmishes.
Marksmanship Hunter
Similar to Beast Mastery, Marksmanship can quickly burst down a target, and with the addition of the new runes, Hunters are dominating most of PvP and PvE, however, they can be easily countered once you get in melee combat range.

Discipline Mage
Priests received a lot of buffs in the most recent patch so their PvP potential has greatly increased. You offer great defensive abilities to your teammates in open-world encounters and you can even survive for longer if you are targeted by the enemy.
Affliction Warlock
Warlocks have always been amazing in 1v1 scenarios as their fears, curses, and DoTs can stack up to do a lot of damage while keeping you at a safe distance from the enemy. Even by being capped at level 25, Warlocks are phenomenal at PvP due to their kit.
Retribution Paladin
Paladins received a lot of love in SoD as Blizzard made the class more than just a tanky healer, but the damage they bring to the table is not to be underestimated. Not only is this spec fun to play but very viable in most PvP scenarios due to the new runes and abilities Paladins now have instead of relying on slowly auto-attacking.

WoW SoD A Tier PvP Classes and Specs
A bit weaker in comparison to the tier above, these classes and specs still pack a lot of value in PvP fights so you can also try these out.
Combat Rogue
Combat Rogues are in an interesting spot as they deal a lot of damage if they get a good setup, but by being restricted to the level 25 cap, they lack some needed damage to climb up the ladder. Not to mention that if Rogues are heavily CC'ed they can easily fall prey to casters and get shredded.
Elemental Shaman
Great burst potential, but the spec can easily run into mana issues if the opponents have a way of sustaining the initial burst of damage. Still, a very reliable option if you are looking to obliterate your enemies from afar.
Fire Mage
A very good caster with insane damage potential, very similar to the Elemental Shaman in some regards.

Feral Druid
A very fun spec to PvP with, Feral Druids have always been a staple in the early game stages as some favorable crits can land you a massive win against squishier opponents.
Arms Warrior
Warriors shine when you reach the end-game content, but they still have a decent amount of power and damage once they can stick to the target. Unfortunately, the lack of mobility might be a detriment when facing oppressive opponents that can outrange you.
Survival Hunter
Although there is not much information yet to determine the strength of this spec, the new runes add some great flavor to the class to enable you to go full melee and by using your traps, you can very easily surprise your opponent.
Restoration Druid
A very good healer and given the fact that you can heal multiple targets at once makes this spec amazing for open-world PvP. You might run into some mana problems, but overall the value you provide compensates for the downtime.

WoW SoD B Tier PvP Classes and Specs
The options become a bit weaker down the tier list, but you can still make use of their kit in some situations.
Arcane Mage
Although offering some very good AoE damage, this spec can run into some issues with mana and does not have the best single target damage potential other specs and classes have.
Restoration Shaman
A good healer overall, but due to the level 25 cap, Shamans will not have access to their better healing abilities that make them great in PvP. This spec will probably go up in Phase 2 of Season of Discovery.
Assassination Rogue
Very good at locking down single targets, but the class remains very squishy in most encounters and if you are unable to chunk down the opponent fast enough, you will fall behind in a prolonged fight.

Enhancement Shaman
Very reliant on landing good melee blows, this spec can easily be kited and damaged from afar but you have relatively good odds facing another melee spec. Albeit a little inconsistent and reliant and good procs, this spec is still a menace if left unchecked.
Frost Mage
Very good CC capabilities, although lacking a bit in damage, this class reigns supreme in most open-world PvP skirmishes. This spec also provides a lot of utility and favors well with other ranged classes that benefit from creating distance from their enemies.
Destruction Warlock
Very good AoE and single-target damage, but can easily fall behind as the spec suffers from prominent mana problems so you will need to carefully pick your fights and maximize the new runes to get favorable results.

Subtlety Rogue
Sometimes inconsistent with damage as you need a great opener to unleash your full potential onto the enemy but if you are unable to kill the target in the early stages of the fight then you will be kited down and out damaged in a prolonged fight.
Balance Druid
The recent rune buffs made this spec more viable in PvP but without having access to your Moonkin form currently, you will be unable to deal that much damage with Wrath as the secondary healing property is not as useful in duels.

WoW SoD C Tier PvP Classes and Specs
Holy Paladin
Not too many Paladins playing in this spec when there are much better healers overall, you should probably stick to Retribution for Phase 1.
WoW SoD F Tier PvP Classes and Specs
The remaining specs currently do not offer any viability to the meta either because they are lacking core runes and talents due to the level 25 cap or can easily be countered by the other options up the list.
Demonology Warlock
Fury Warrior
Holy Priest
Protection Paladin
Shadow Priest
Protection Warrior
