However, by now, players know it's not that simple, and they should strategize to maximize their gameplay so they're not missing out on important progress. In this WoW guide, we will mention several steps you should consider before and during your The War Within journey. Here's how to get ready for "The War Within" and what to prioritize on launch day, August 26th.

1. Prepare Your Alts for Efficient Leveling

Before you start your adventure, it's important to log into any alternate characters (alts) that you plan to level up early. This will trigger their rested experience, giving them a significant leveling boost when you switch back to them later. Just make sure these characters are in a rested area to maximize this effect.

2. Complete the Magni Quests

If you haven't completed earlier quests, such as meeting Magni and his family, make sure to do so, as these are prerequisites for starting the new storyline in The War Within.

3. Start the Expansion’s Intro Sequence

Blizzard

The new expansion will offer lots of new quests and adventures, so don't waste time! Your first stop with your main character should be Dalaran, where the intro sequence for "The War Within" begins. This is where you’ll pick up the necessary quests that lead into the new content.

4. Focus on Campaign Progression

Blizzard

Completing the main campaign quests in The War Within should be your main goal. This unlocks world quests, events, and other weekly activities critical for progression. Completing the campaign also unlocks Adventure Mode for your alts, giving you more flexibility in how you level them. So don't waste time—finish the campaign!

5. Exploring and Traveling

Blizzard

Every time Blizzard releases new WoW maps, it's important to take some time to explore what the new environment has to offer. This will help unlock the Pathfinder achievement, but it also ensures you don’t have to backtrack later in your adventure because you missed something.

Flight paths are now account-wide, so make sure to unlock them as you explore. This will make traveling much easier for your alts and also contributes to the Caz Algar Flight Master achievement, which boosts flight path speed by 25%.

6. Unlock and Upgrade Your Professions Early

Professions add a lot of flavor to WoW gameplay. Once you arrive in the city hub, Dornogal, make sure to pick up your professions in the Forgegrounds as soon as possible. It's important to do this step early on so you don't miss out on any experience, both for gathering and crafting professions.

7. Gather, Gather, Gather!

If crafting isn’t your focus early on, you might want to drop your current professions and opt for double gathering (e.g., mining and herbalism) while leveling, as suggested by YouTuber SignsofKelani. This approach offers free XP from each node you gather, materials to sell at the Auction House, and valuable crafting materials that will be needed later on in The War Within gameplay.

8. Hero Talents

Blizzard

As you level up, by level 71, you’ll unlock the Hero Talent feature. It will allow WoW players to choose from various talent trees. These talents give your characters a significant boost, especially the Capstone talents found at the bottom of each tree. Although you’ll eventually unlock all talents by level 80, focusing on the Capstone talents early can give you a powerful edge. You'll get one point to spend with each level, and you can reset the tree at any point.

9. Efficient Leveling Through Side Quests

Side quests provide valuable experience and rewards, but they’re not mandatory to complete on your first character. Since renown and reputation are now account-wide, you can save side quests for your alts to help them level up without repeating the campaign.

We hope these steps help you have a better journey in WoW: The War Within! Stay tuned for even more content.
