What are Delves?

Delves provide an enhanced outdoor world experience, taking exploration to new depths. If you enjoy outdoor adventures, you'll love Delves. They revolve around exploration, discovery, and solving mysteries in open-world settings.

Delves go beyond typical dungeons that focus solely on defeating bosses and wrapping up the adventure. Some Delves feature guardians and puzzles, leading to treasure. These experiences are seamless, with no loading screens, fully immersing players in the outdoor world.

You can tackle Delves in groups of 1 to 4 players, and your role specialization doesn't matter. They come in various tiers, each with its own corresponding rewards.

As the seasons progress, Delves will become more challenging and offer better rewards. Currently, there are 12 planned Delves, with 11 of them revealed at BlizzCon, and one remaining as a mystery for players to discover.

  • Isle of Dorn: Earthcrawl Mines, Kriegval’s Rest, Fungal Folly
  • Hallowfall: Skittering Breach, Nightfall Sanctum, The Sinkhole, Mycomancer Cavern
  • The Ringing Deeps: The Waterworks, The Dread Pit, Deepwalker Hold
  • Azj-Kahet: The Spiral Weave, Rak-Rethan Abyss

Companions

Brann Bronzebeard serves as the Season 1 companion. Players can tailor his role as a tank, DPS, healer, or controller to enhance their journey. NPCs play a crucial role in the storyline and provide substantial support to players during the game.

Chests

Certain rewards might require keys that aren't found within the delve. This will prompt players to embark on another adventure, encouraging further exploration of the world. This differs significantly from dungeons, as it breaks the chain-running pattern for players.

Great Vault

The Great Vault PvP section will be replaced by the World section, following feedback suggesting that blending PvP with random loot isn't optimal. As a result, PvP fans will receive amplified conquest rewards, providing them with more control over obtaining the items they desire.

More Fun

Aside from silly little hats, players will have access to a flying machine mount. It will be exclusive to delves and it will be customizable much like Dragonriding mounts are in Dragonflight.
