In a recent data mine from Wowhead, we can see that Blizzard devs are testing how the Shadowlands dungeon Operation: Mechagon Workshop will play out in Season 2 of The War Within. Given the Goblin theme of the 11.1 Undermine(d) patch, we can see what direction the devs are headed.

Having that in mind, we will go over everything we know from the Wowhead data mine, however, the provided information is in no way or form final so make sure to take everything with a grain of salt.

It seems that the design choices are aimed towards quality-of-life changes to make the dungeon better for Mythic+ players.

  • NEW Electrical Storm - Deals increasing damage when one boss dies until the other one dies.

Both bosses now also have an ultimate ability which is cast at 100 energy.

  • Gnomercy's charge deals bonus damage since BFA and doesn't get stunned as long.
  • Platinum Pummeler puts up armor plating periodically.

Maximum Thrust - Gnomercy's ultimate ability

  • Damage increased by 80%
  • Stunned for 5 sec (was 10 sec)
  • Summons B.4.T.T.L.3. Mines to be launched when it hits the walls.

Platinum Plating - Platinum Pummeler's ultimate ability

  • Pistons used to remove the plating respawn after 1.5 minutes

There are also some changes to Gnomercy to make it less deadly. Foe Flipper appears to have a cast time now, probably making it dodgable. Vent Jets doesn't cause massive AoE anymore and players just have to avoid the front.

  • Foe Flipper now has a 2.5 sec cast (was Instant)
  • Foe Flipper now deals damage to all players in 6 yards, flipping them into the air and reducing their movement speed by 30% for 6 seconds.
  • Vent Jets is now only slowed by 20% (was 60%) but AoE damage removed. Being in front still deals very high damage.

Lastly, three new abilities have been added. it looks like there's one cleave tankbuster, more space denial in mines and a replacement AoE damage spell for your healer to heal through.

  • NEW Platinum Pummel - Pummels the target, inflicts 9081203 Physical damage to all enemies within 10 yards of impact.
  • NEW B.4.T.T.L.3. Mine - Launches B.4.T.T.L.3. Mine at player's location, inflicting 20 Fire damage to players within 3 yards and leaving behind B.4.T.T.L.3. Mine.
  • NEW Ground Pound - Slams into the ground, inflicting 454060 Physical damage to all players every 0.5 sec for 4 sec.

And that covers everything we know thus far. We will certainly get more information as players start testing out the PTR and provide feedback to the devs. There has already been some community discussion regarding the design philosophy for Mythic+ in Season 2, and it seems like players are not happy with the way the devs are approaching endgame content.

Hopefully, Mythic+ players, especially tanks and healers will finally get some slack as Blizzard has been taking some questionable decisions in the past couple of years when it comes to the Mythic+ scene.
