Wuthering Waves is an open-world ARPG in which you usually play solo, fighting monsters, gathering things, and exploring.
However, Kuro Games has made it so that you can also play with your friends to share the experience of killing difficult bosses or simply to have a strong friend clear some mobs for you.
In this guide, we’ll show you how you can unlock the co-op function in Wuthering Waves and how to invite your friends.

How to Unlock Co-Op in Wuthering Waves
Unfortunately, the co-op in Wuthering Waves does not unlock right after you have made your account, and you need to play for a bit before you get the opportunity to play with your friends.
The co-op function unlocks at Union Level 22.
This means that you will need to play the game for a bit and complete most of the currently available story before you can invite your friends and go Echo grinding together.
Fortunately for you, that is all that you have to do. After you’ve reached Union Level 22, there are no other requirements that you need to meet to play co-op.

How to Play Co-Op in Wuthering Waves
After you have unlocked the co-op function in Wuthering Waves, it’s time that you learn how to use it. There are two ways you can play co-op after you have unlocked it. One is by going to your [Friends] window and choosing a friend to play with.
The other is by directly going to the co-op mode icon in the main menu and searching for people who have enabled co-op and are looking for other people to play with.
NOTE: You won’t be able to play with your friends if you are on different servers.

Co-op Features
Now that you’ve unlocked the co-op feature, you’re probably wondering what you can do in other players’ worlds. Well, similar to Genshin Impact, currently the most popular things you can do with other people include:
- stealing materials
- farming echoes
- fighting bosses
- exploring
Given that the Echo system is currently set up with a set amount of certain Echoes per world, you can go to other people’s worlds to farm Echoes to boost your progression.
Currently, there is no end-game content that you can tackle with other players. Still, we are hopeful that raids or something along those lines will be released with feature updates, so we can’t wait to see if Kuro Games will develop the co-op function further or leave it as it is now.
