The developers behind Zenless Zone Zero announced a lot of new content during the Version 1.5 livestream that took place today. However, no one could’ve prepared us for the announcement of skins! Skins have always been a picky topic for miHoYo games; just look at Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. They’ve never been the main focus of the games, and it usually takes a good amount of time after a game’s release for it to get skins. Well, not Zenless Zone Zero. Just half a year after the release of the game, and we’re already getting not one, but a total of three skins!

Skins in Zenless Zone Zero
Skins in ZZZ have been a topic of discussion ever since the game was released back in July last year. Back then the community went wild over the release of Ellen and how they would throw their money at HoYo as long as they got what they wanted. What an irony to think that they’d get it just six months later.
Skins in Zenless Zone Zero will work in a similar manner to other miHoYo games. You will either be able to get them through events or purchase them in the store with the game’s premium currency. Newly launched skins will come with a discount during the version they are released and will then go back to full price after the version update. The currently announced skins only update the character’s visual appearance and do not provide any unique items such as a unique avatar or such. They are simply a cosmetic item that changes how your characters look when you’re roaming around the world with them, using them in combat, or simply browsing through the game’s menus.

Version 1.5 New Skins
The developers announced that three characters will receive skins in Version 1.5. Those characters are the upcoming S-Rank Agent, Astra Yao; the S-Rank Agent, Ellen; and the A-Rank Agent, Nicole. Both skins for the S-Rank Agents will be available for players to purchase through the in-game shop for a set amount of premium currency, while Nicole’s skin will be available for free through the event [The Day of Brilliant Wishes].
Astra Yao Skin
Astra Yao’s skin is known as [Chandelier], and it will become available after the start of Version 1.5. Players can obtain this skin through the [Today’s Outfit] section of the Outfit Store, which will also become available with version 1.5. The Chandelier outfit will come with a discounted price for the duration of Version 1.5; however, after the version ends, the discount will disappear, and you will have to buy the outfit at full price. No information is currently available for the price of this outfit. Stay tuned for future official releases to get more information about it.
Ellen Skin
Ellen’s skin is known as [On Campus], and it is a skin that dresses Ellen in her school uniform. This is a skin that the player base has been requesting ever since the release of the game. Similar to the Astra Yao skin, Ellen’s skin will be available through the Outfit Store after the release of Version 1.5 and will come with a limited-time deal. This deal will last until the end of Version 1.5, so make sure to get the skin before then if you want to save some premium resources. The [On Campus] skin will still be available after Version 1.5 has ended, but it will no longer feature a limited-time deal.
Nicole Skin
Nicole’s skin is known as [Cunning Cutie]. This is the only one of the three skins that players can get for free. You can get this skin by participating in the [The Day of Brilliant Wishes] event that will take place during Version 1.5. The skin will only be available for free during Version 1.5. After the end of Version 1.5, Cunning Cutie will enter the Outfit Store, where you will be able to buy it for a set price.
