Bangboos are one of the interesting features that make Zenless Zone Zero stand out from other gacha games. You can find these little fellows everywhere and it is evident that they are a big part of the Zenless Zone Zero universe.

In this article, we’ll go over just how these little companions help you in the game and how you can get them.

What are Bangboos

You can view Bangboos as your 4th team member in Zenless Zone Zero. In ZZZ teams are formed from only 3 characters. However, there is a hidden 4th spot in the team that is reserved for a Bangboos.

Unlike your three main characters, you don’t actively control the Bangboos. They simply idle on the battlefield, doing their own thing, and casting their skills to assist you in combat.

Bangboos are the cute little mascots and the face of Zenless Zone Zero. Similar to Agents in the game, Bangboos come in various rarities and each Bangboo comes with its own unique set of skills.

Bangboos can come in three rarities:

  • B
  • A
  • S

Each has a unique set of 3 skills divided between an - Active Skill / Unique Passive / Common Passive.

Similar to the characters in ZZZ, Bangboos can also be leveled up to increase their stats, however, their skills will remain the same, so don’t get your hopes up on having your Bangboos carry you through stages. Though who knows, it may be possible.

The concept of Bangboos can be found in other gacha games as well. In Honkai Impact 3rd the ELFs work similarly to the Bangboos, and in Punishing: Gray Raven it's the CUBs. So if you are familiar with these two games you won’t have a problem with the Bangboos.

How to get Bangboos

Getting Bangboos in Zenless Zone Zero is done by pulling for them in the specific Bangboo banner.

This banner requires a specific currency known as a Boopon. This currency can only be obtained through specific modes in the game or events, and cannot be bought with premium currency, meaning that Bangboos might just be quite hard to obtain.

NOTE: This is information for the CBT3 of the game and everything is subject to change.

The Bangboo banner works similarly to the Honkai: Star Rail weapon banner where you have a 75% of winning the featured Bangboo on the banner.

Whether these percent chances will remain the same is still uncertain and it might be worth looking into, as not being able to efficiently form for the Boopons might deter players from pulling on the banner, or having them wait for months.

Bangboos are an interesting addition to Zenless Zone Zero and without a doubt bring a ton of character to the game. Currently, the way players can obtain Bangboos is a bit limited, due to the developers locking the good Bangboos behind a premium pull currency, however, this is subject to change as the game is still in closed beta.

The Bangboos are certainly a part of the game that the developers will work on more in the future and we can’t wait to see how they will shape up further.
