Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1: All New Weapons and Mods

Epic Games has released details on new weapons, items, and a weapon modding system coming in Fortnite Chapter 5. The highly anticipated new chapter brings fresh combat options for players. In this article we will be looking at all the new weapons coming to Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 and how the mods work. 

Ballistic Shield

A new Ballistic Shield functions both as a shield and pistol, allowing players to defend themselves while shooting. The shield has infinite health but will be temporarily disabled after absorbing too much damage. Players can also charge at enemies, dealing damage by bashing them with the shield.

Island Arsenal - New Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1:

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 introduces several new ranged weapons, including:

• Hammer Pump Shotgun
• Frenzy Auto Shotgun
• Nemesis AR
• Striker AR
• Thunder Burst SMG

Weapon Modding in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1

A major new feature is weapon modding, which allows customizing weapons with mods like reduced recoil and increased magazine size. The number of mods on a weapon depends on its rarity:

• Uncommon weapons come pre-modded with 1 mod
• Rare weapons come with 2 mods
• Epic weapons come with 3 mods
• Legendary weapons come pre-modded with 4 mods

Players can further customize these weapons by swapping out the existing mods for different ones. Experimenting with combos allows optimizing weapons to match play style.

• Grapple Blade
  • The versatile Grapple Blade allows players to grapple to hard surfaces or other players. If latching onto another player, the blade can then be used to deal melee damage. It also serves as a mobility tool for getting around the island quickly.

• Cluster Clinger
  • When thrown, this explosive device sticks to surfaces or players before triggering smaller explosions after a short delay. It's important to avoid clusters when they are tossed your way.
