Honkai Star Rail: Gacha System Guide

In this short guide we’ll go over Honkai Star Rail’s Wishing System and how you can use it to get the characters you want!

Honkai Star Rail: Gacha System Guide
HoYoverse

In Honkai Star Rail you get new characters by either completing certain tasks (hyperlink) or wishing for them in the game’s wishing systems by using Stellar Jade, Special Star Rail Passes or Star Rail Passes. This guide will go over Honkai Star Rail’s Limited and Regular banners, giving you all the information you need before you pull.

What are Honkai Star Rail’s Banners

Similar to Genshin Impact (HoYoverse’s other popular gacha game) the banners in Honkai Star Rail are divided into three. The three types are: Limited Character Event Warp, Limited Light Cone Event Warp Warp, and Regular Warp. Let's break down each one.

Limited Character Banner:

This banner changes every 21 days or about three weeks. Each Honkai Star Rail version has two phases, and there are 1-2 Limited Character Event Warps each Phase.

To make warps/pulls, you need to spend 160 Stellar Jade or use Special Star Rail Passes, obtained from events or by exchanging 160 Stellar Jade.

For every 10 pulls, you are guaranteed a 4-star or above character, and every 90th pull guarantees a 5-star character. Each Limited Character Even Warp features a specific 5-star character, alongside three 4-star characters. The four characters on the banner all benefit from Boosted Rates, increasing the chance of getting them.

The first time you get a 5-star character, there's a 50% chance it's the Limited Character. If not, the next 5-star is guaranteed to be the Limited Character, carrying over the chance from the previous banner.

Limited Light Cone Banner:

Honkai Star Rail’s Light Cone banner also changes every 21 days, coinciding with the Limited Character Banner. It operates similarly but focuses on Light Cones (weapons) instead of characters.

You're guaranteed a 5-star Light Cone every 80 pulls, with a 75% chance of it being the limited one. Like the Character Event Warp the Limited Light Cone event warp also features three 4-star Light Cones that benefit from boosted rates.

Regular Banner

The Regular Banner is the third and final type of Honkai Star Rail banners. It works similar to the Limited Character Banner but it doesn’t offer boosted rates on any Characters or Light Cones, and is always present regardless of Honkai Star Rail version changes. Every 10 pulls, you get a guaranteed 4-star entity, and every 90th pull ensures a 5-star entity (Character or Light Cone).

Unlike the Limited Character Banner, the Regular Banner only offers regular 5-star characters and Light Cones. A unique feature is the Additional Rewards Section, where you can choose a Regular 5-star character after reaching 300 pulls. You can get these additional rewards multiple times, every time you hit 300 pulls.

Is it Worth to Pull on Honkai Star Rail Banners?

There are some cases where players decide to save their pull, whether that is for a challenge or something along those lines, however, the majority of Trailblazers pull for characters. It is a gacha game after all. Although Honkai Star Rail’s gacha rates aren’t the best in the market, it more than makes up for that with the amount of free currency Honkai Star Rail's team give out.

And you can clear everything in Honkai Star Rail with just the free characters. But pulling for Characters on the wish system is what gacha games are all about. As such whether you decide to pull or not, all that is important is that you have fun playing the game!
