Varshan the Consumed serves as the final boss encountered at the conclusion of the "Burning from Within" questline in Season of the Malignant.
Once players have successfully defeated Varshan, they can spawn him within specific Malignant Tunnels by crafting different Invokers of Varshan.
Crafting Invokers of Varshan in Diablo 4
To obtain an Invoker of Varshan, players must first defeat Varshan within the questline. This item is a consumable that allows the spawning of another Echo of the boss within Malignant Tunnels after his defeat.
The regular Invoker of Varshan can be crafted using the following materials:
- x1,000 Gold
- x1 Brutal Malignant Invoker
- x1 Devious Malignant Invoker
- x1 Vicious Malignant Invoker
- x1 Demon Heart
Cormond will provide players with the crafting recipe for the initial Invokers after turning in the final quest of the storyline. These Invokers can be crafted at one of Cormond's Workbenches once the recipe is unlocked. Additionally, there are two more types of Invokers of Varshan: Foul Invoker of Varshan and Tormented Invoker of Varshan.
To craft a Foul Invoker of Varshan, players must first defeat the first Echo of Varshan in one of the Malignant Tunnels with a Sealed Door. The regular Echo of Varshan can be found and defeated within World Tier One or Two, while the Foul Echo of Varshan can only be encountered within World Tier 3.
To craft a Foul Invoker of Varshan, players need:
- x1000 Gold
- x1 Invoker of Varshan
- x50 Sigil Powder
Tormented Invoker of Varshan can only be looted after defeating the Foul Echo of Varshan in World Tier 3. To craft it, players will need:
- x1000 Gold
- x5 Forgotten Souls
- x1 Invoker of Varshan
- x5 Fiend Rose
Echo of Varshan Locations and Tiers in Diablo 4: Noteworthy information about Echoes of Varshan and their locations:
- Two Malignant Tunnels with Sealed Doors are The Boiling Wound, The Bedeviled Grotto, and The Ravening Pit tunnels.
- Sealed Doors can only be opened by players who have fully completed the Burning from Within storyline and can be found next to the Malignant Outgrowth areas at the end of the Tunnel.
- The specific Malignant Outgrowth requires a matching Invoker of Varshan to spawn the Echo.
- For World Tiers 1 and 2, a regular Invoker of Varshan is needed, while World Tier 3 requires a Foul Invoker of Varshan, and World Tier 4 demands a Tormented Invoker of Varshan.
- Echoes of Varshan become progressively more challenging with each tier, meaning players will need to be well-geared or in a group to tackle the Tormented Echo of Varshan.
