The Exotic class items allow Prismatic Guardians to mix the effects of two existing Exotics together, which brings some exciting new combos to the table. They come from the secret Exotic mission in The Pale Heart, “Dual Destiny,” which you’ll only be able to do in a two-person Fireteam.

The Final Shape: How do the New Class Exotics Work?
The Class Exotics may have different names in Destiny 2: The Final Shape, but they all perform the same function. Each class item, Essentialism, Stoicism, and Solipsism, has a random roll, and each receives one Exotic perk from the first and second pools.
The concept is that these class items allow you to combine various Exotic effects together. The perk pools usually vary amongst the three classes and mainly contain effects belonging to Exotics from their respective classes.
The "spirit" versions of the perks on these class items don't have the full Exotic benefits from the original Exotics, and they sometimes lack an effect.
Finally, keep in mind that these Exotic class items only work if you're utilizing the new Prismatic subclass.

Destiny 2: Essentialism Exotic Hunter Cloak Perks
