Black Myth Wukong - Ma Tianba Horse Guai Quest Walkthrough

Black Myth Wukong is full of NPCs that will either turn into some of the most vicious enemies or will give you a bunch of tasks to complete. One of those characters is the Ma Tianba Horse Guai.

This NPC has his own questline that players must finish if they want to obtain the Dark Thunder Transformation at the end. This guide will show you how to complete the Ma Tianba Horse Guai quest in Black Myth Wukong.

Black Myth Wukong Ma Tianba Horse Guai Locations

You can find the Ma Tianba Horse Guai in all Chapters of Black Myth Wukong, except for the last one. The quest will be officially completed after you discover all of his locations.

Chapter 1: Bamboo Grove

You will first encounter Ma Tianba Horse Guai at the Back Hills Keeper's Shrine after defeating Lingxuzi. Go down the staircase and turn left. Enter the alcove, and you'll see the NPC sitting on a log. Interact with him, and you'll start the quest.

Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge

In Chapter 2, Ma Tianba Horse Guai is located in Sandgate Village. Travel to the Valley of Despair and go down the stairs on the right side. There's a house with a rope bridge. You'll find Ma Tianba Horse Guai tied up in the area beneath the roof. Defeat the Rock Wolf Yaoguai Chief and interact with the NPC again.

Chapter 3: The New West

Reach the New Thunderclap Temple by starting from the Temple Entrance and walking past the first altar. Climb up the left stairs and then proceed to the next staircase. You'll find a building full of blind monks. Turn left, and you'll notice the Ma Tianba Horse Guai standing next to a pillar.

Chapter 4: Webbed Hollow

Chapter 4 will lead you to the Middle Hollow after you defeat the Centipede boss. Explore the caverns and the Ma Tianba Horse Guai will be waiting for you in one of the cocoons. Free him by slashing his prison.

Chapter 5: Flaming Mountains

Head towards the Furnace Valley and find the Elemental Cart on the right side before the Cloudy Mist fight. Interact with the cord in the mouth of the Cart, and you'll initiate a conversation with the Ma Tianba Horse Guai.
