Black Myth Wukong - Man-In-Stone Quest Walkthrough

Are you wondering how to free the man trapped in the rock in Chapter 2? Don't worry, this quest is a relatively short one, although Black Myth Wukong isn't really famous for its easy challenges.

Thankfully, this guide is here to tell you how to complete every step of the Man-In-Stone quest in the game, so you can progress even faster. Let's get started!

Black Myth Wukong Man-In-Stone Location

At the beginning of Chapter 2, you will have to defeat the Rat King and the Second Rat Prince. After you've done that, rest at the Valley of Dispair and take the right-hand path over the bridge. Follow it until you see the Fright Cliff region.

The path before you will split one more time at Squall Hideout. Turn right, and you will see several roads, one of which cuts through the rock. Take this lower path, and at the end of it you will see a rock formation; this is the Man-In-Stone.

Interact with the Man-In-Stone, and he will tell you that he has been trapped in the rock by a spell and he needs help. Enter the cave further into Fright Cliff; you can do that from either side of the Squall Hideout Shrine, but the easiest approach is to go back to the start of the lower path and take the one on the left instead.

Once you pass the Buddha head, you can turn left or right. The first path is longer, but it will give you a chest. The second one will lead you directly into the cave. When you enter, kill the two Blazebone enemies on the wooden platform and walk straight as if you want to exit. Right before you do, turn left at the cave mouth and take the path up towards the elevated area.

Black Myth Wukong How To Defeat The Mother Of Stones

When you walk further into the cave, you will find a cavern. At the end of it, there is a rock creature covered with crystals; this is the Mother of Stones, and you need to attack her. She will not fight back, but she will do anything in her power to distract you.

She spawns stone enemies that will attack you from behind, but if you dodge the attacks and damage the Mother of Stones at the same time, you will soon win. When you defeat her, you will get the Stone Essence as a reward.

Black Myth Wukong How To Defeat The Man-In-Stone

Return to the Man-In-Stone at the end of the lower path in Squall Hideout and interact with him to deliver the Stone Essence. By doing that, you will set him free, and he will immediately attack you. The good news is that he doesn't have a lot of health, and defeating him will be easy.

He will return the Stone Essence to you as an apology for attacking you, and you will get a brand-new spell called Azure Dust. It will help you temporarily transform into a rock guai, which is immune to status effect. Moreover, if you return to the Man-In-Stone later, he will offer you his treasures in exchange for some Will.
