The Prisoner is an NPC in Black Myth Wukong, and he has his own side quest. Of course, you will find him in one of the many cells in the Pagoda Realm, and he will warn you not to get involved in his business for your own good.
Your conversation with the Prisoner won't be very productive because you can't enter his cell. However, when you figure out how to break the gate, you will officially begin the Prisoner quest and get all the necessary instructions.

Black Myth Wukong How To Start The Prisoner Quest
When you wake up in the Pagoda Realm, leave your cell and walk a few steps forward; you will soon see the Prisoner, and you will recognize his cell by the purple seal on the front. Exhaust his dialogue and continue towards the second floor.
Activate the Upper Pagoda Keeper's Shrine, turn around, and jump down the cliff onto the red roof. Drop down to the ground, and you'll see Captain Lotus-Vision. Defeat him, claim his Spirit, and walk back to the Prisoner; then you'll be able to break the gate and start the quest.

Black Myth Wukong Prisoner Quest Captain Spirits Locations
There are three bosses that you need to fight after you begin the Prisoner quest in Black Myth Wukong: Captain Wise-Voice, Captain Void-Illusion, and Captain Kalpa-Wave. Let's see where you can find them.
Captain Wise-Voice
After you've spoken to the Prisoner for a second time, climb on top of the Pagoda Realm and find the Mani Wheel Keeper's Shrine. When you enter the room, you will see Captain Wise-Voice inside.
To beat him, attack aggressively and keep hitting his legs and head until he falls to the ground. Once you win, he will drop his Spirit as a reward, so make sure to pick it up.
Captain Void-Illusion
Captain Void-Illusion is located in the Valley of Ecstasy, but keep in mind that you need to have progressed enough through the main story to unlock the Longevity Road Keeper's Shrine.
When you get there, turn right and run past the enemies. Make another right turn, and you'll stumble upon the carcass of Captain Void-Illusion.

After you defeat Captain Void-Illusion at the Longevity Road Keeper's Shrine, keep going forward until the end of the arena and make sure to stick to the right side of the path. Climb the stairs, and you'll find Captain Kalpa-Wave there.
After winning the fight, you can take his Spirit, and return to the Prisoner in Lower Pagoda. When you give him your reward, he will grant you the Chubai Spearhead Item, which is used to craft the Chu Bai Spear.
