C Tier Sorcerer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 3

Diablo 4 Chain Lightning Skill Icon

Chain Lightning Sorcerer

While the Chain Lightning Sorcerer is one of the better leveling builds available to the class, it struggles to scale in the later stages of the game. The reason we have put the build on this list is due to how great it is during the earlier stages of the endgame, allowing you to farm some of the items required before respecing into a better scaling build. The build is a lot of fun to play, and it's visually impressive, sending huge bolts of lightning that bounce between your enemies, obliterating them into dust. Chain Lightning also received some indirect nerfs in Season 3, which are not significant enough to worry about. If you are looking for a fun starter build for Season 3, Chain Lightning is a great option.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
Great AoE Damage Resource Issues
Great AoE Clear Damage/CC RNG
Great CC Gear Dependent For Scaling

B Tier Sorcerer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 3

Diablo 4 Firewall Skill Icon

Firewall Sorcerer

The Firewall Sorcerer is another great entry-level build that we recommend you use at the beginning of your journey through World Tier 3 and 4. Similar to Chain Lightning, the build is not going to scale enough for you to deal with the hardest content in the game, but what it will do is provide you with a stepping stone while you farm all the items you need before switching to something with better scaling. The build did not receive any significant changes during patch 1.3, and with the addition of the new Seneschal Companion, it might actually be stronger than what we anticipate. Either way, the build will serve its purpose, and if this is something you are looking for, give Firewall a try.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
High AoE Damage Low ST Damage
Very Tanky Requires 'Positioning'
Good CC Damage Over Time

Diablo 4 Ice Shards Skill Icon

Ice Shards Sorcerer

The Ice Shards Sorcerer build is a great option if you are looking to speed farm Nightmare Dungeons, either to farm for items or to simply level up. With this build, you are going to rely on big Frost Nova explosions during AoE situations while machine-gun firing your Ice Shards when you are dealing with Elites or Bosses. The build does competitive damage and scales pretty well into the late game, but it does require a lot of specific items to make it work well. If you are looking for a very mobile build to run dungeons that can actually scale further into the game and deal with some of the harder content, Ice Shards could be the build for you.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
Great AoE Damage Gear Dependent
Decent ST Damage Resource Issues
Very Tanky

A Tier Sorcerer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 3

Diablo 4 Ball Lightning Skill Icon

Ball Lightning Sorcerer

Ball Lightning was far and away the best Sorcerer build during the last season, and unfortunately, the new update has come with heavy nerfs. Blizzard stated that the ability had a bug attached to it, and with patch 1.3, they have lowered its attack speed scaling from 200% to 25%. Even with this bug fix, the build finds itself in our A Tier, which goes to show how insanely strong it was during the previous season. For the build to work, you are going to need to find the Gravitational Aspect, which will allow your Balls of Lightning to rotate around you. Once you have this, you will be set, moving from pack to pack and destroying everything in your path. Even with the nerfs, this build is more than capable of dealing with the hardest content of the game, so if you missed out during its peak last season, it's still not a bad time to try.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
Very Mobile Resource Issues
Massive AoE Damage Cooldown Reliant
Very Tanky

S Tier Sorcerer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 3

Meteor Icon Diablo 4

Meteor Sorcerer

Now, this addition to the list is more speculation than anything else, but from all of the information available so far, it looks like Meteor might be one of the best endgame Sorcerer builds for Season 3. Before this season, the build was considered lacking and awkward, with not many interesting synergies available to it in the way of Legendary Powers or Uniques. Season 3, however, is adding a brand new Unique called the Starfall Coronet, and it looks really strong on paper.

  • Meteor now has 2 charges and a 11–6 second Charge Cooldown instead of a Mana cost and drops 3 additional meteors around the target.
  • Meteor's Enchantment effect and Enhanced Meteor drop 1 additional meteor.

A lot of members of the community have already started theorycrafting a ton of new variations for the build, with most of them looking really strong and capable of dealing with all of the hardest content in the game. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this is a Unique item, meaning for all of these possibilities to open up, you will first need to find the item. If you want to take a more risky approach to your build selection for Season 3, the new Meteor Sorcerer additions are looking quite interesting.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
Great AoE Damage Gear Dependent
Great AoE Clear 'Awkward' Playstyle
Very Mobile

Diablo 4 Arc Lash Skill Icon

Arc Lash Sorcerer

The final build on our list is the trusty Arc Lash Sorcerer. This has been a very consistent build throughout the last few seasons of the game, and nothing much is going to be changing. The Ball Lightning changes mentioned above will affect the build a small amount, but nothing too significant. This is a very tanky melee-oriented Sorcerer build that aims to stay up close, annihilating its enemies with Arc Lash and Ball Lightning procs. It does great AoE and single-target damage, it's very mobile, and extremely tanky—all the qualities you are looking for while doing endgame content in Diablo 4. If you are looking for a stable and consistent build among the many variables within the Sorcerer class, then Arc Lash might be the build for you.

  • Nightmare Dungeons: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Bossing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
  • Speed Clearing:⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros Cons
Extremely Tanky Resource Issues
Great AoE Damage Gear Dependent
Good CC Melee

That is everything you need to know about the best endgame builds for the Sorcerer class during Diablo 4 Season 3. Hopefully we cast a wide enough net so you could easily find something you will enjoy playing during the new season.
