How to Open Wardwoven Chests in Diablo 4 Season 3

Opening Wardwoven Chests in Season 3 is going to require a certain amount of the Zoltun's Warding status effect. You can gain this effect at the start of any Vault dungeon by interacting with the Statue of Zoltun Kulle. Ten stacks of this buff are going to cost you one Pearl of Warding, which you farm from Arcane Tremors and the regular chest at the end of the Vault dungeons. You will also lose a stack of this status effect every time you get hit by any of the traps and hazards present within the Vaults. This creates a small mini-game of clearing the dungeon while trying to avoid the traps, which will earn you a lot more loot in the end.

Each World Tier will increase the amount of Wardwoven Chests that are present at the end of the Vault. Completing a Vault in World Tier 4 will provide players with one regular chest, as well as three Wardwoven chests, opening all of which will result in a glorious loot explosion. The three Wardwoven chests will cost you a different amount of Zoltun's Warding stacks:

  • Regular Chest: Does not require any Zoltun's Warding stacks.
  • World Tier 1 & 2 Chest: 1x Zoltun's Warding to unlock.
  • World Tier 3 Chest: 4x Zoltun's Warding to unlock.
  • World Tier 4 Chest: 10x Zoltun's Warding to unlock.

Playing on the World Tier 4 difficulty will provide you with 4 chests to open, and if you want to unlock all of them, you will need to have 15 stacks of Zoltun's Warding at the end of the Vault. Keep in mind that you can use as many Pearls of Warding as you want if you are not interested in trying to avoid any of the traps. All that matters is reaching the end of the Vault with 15 stacks of the status effect.

That covers everything you need to know about the new Wardwoven Chests in Diablo 4's Season of the Construct. Opening as many of these chests at the end of a Vault dungeon is going to provide you with a satisfying loot explosion that will keep you coming for the rest of the season.
