Diablo 4 Season 4: Best Methods for Finding Greater Affix Items

Diablo 4 Season 4 has been out for a few days, and by far one of the best changes from patch 1.4.0 has been the itemization rework. Not only are items a lot simpler to go over, but you can also customize them through the new Tempering and Masterworking systems. Once you reach a bit further into the endgame, you will start to see items drop with a small red icon, which indicates that they have a Greater Affix. This means that one of the stats on the item is rolled as high as possible and increased by an additional 50%. Items can have multiple Greater Affixes, making them some of the strongest and most valuable items in the later stages of the game.

With everything revolving around items with Greater Affixes, in this article, we are going to go over the best methods for farming items that have them, so you can quickly gear your characters for the hardest content in the game.

Best Methods for Finding Greater Affix Items in Diablo 4 Season 4

There isn't an endgame activity specifically made for farming items with Greater Affixes, but there are a few that drop a high base amount of Legendary items. Here are the best places you can farm Legendary items in hopes of getting some to drop with a few Greater Affix stats on them:

Nightmare Dungeons

Nightmare Dungeons are the most versatile way to farm for items, and you are going to need to run them for your Glyph experience either way. Higher tiers of Nightmare dungeons have a better chance of dropping Legendary items, and we also recommend running all of the different 'Cursed' interactables that can happen, such as Cursed Chests, Cursed Shrines, and Cursed Wells. These will provide you with a Resplendent Chest at the end, which has a very high chance to produce a few Legendary items with Greater Affixes. Other than that, just going through the dungeons and defeating Elite enemies will eventually reward you with a few of these items.

The Pit

Our second recommendation is running the new Pit of the Artificer endgame dungeon. This is very similar to Nightmare Dungeons; however, all of the loot you get from the dungeon drops once you complete it, making it a bit faster to go through. Higher Pit levels will provide you with a greater chance for strong loot, so make sure to push as high as you can while keeping your runs relatively fast. There is no real trick to Pit runs, so just go out there and farm some items!

Blood Maiden (Helltide)

Our final recommendation, and by far the best place to find a ton of Legendary items, is farming the Accursed Ritual in Helltides. The Accursed Ritual is an event you can find in any Helltide zone, which requires you and people around you to place 3 Baneful Hearts into the altars. After a short amount of time, this will summon the Blood Maiden boss fight. The Blood Maiden drops an incredible amount of Legendary items, and if you are one of the people who used a Baneful Heart to summon her, you will also receive an extra amount of loot once you defeat her.

Doing this will also provide you with a passive amount of Cinders, which you can use to open some Tortured Gifts around the Helltide. By doing this method, you will be swimming in Legendary items, and at least a few of them are sure to have some Greater Affixes on them. Make sure to find a group of players that are willing to farm the Accursed Ritual and start farming for some items!
