Diablo 4 Season 4 is finally here, and it's time to take a look at what the most effective builds are going to be for the Loot Reborn update. This new season is going to create one of the biggest shifts in the meta since the release of the game, with the new itemization rework creating even more opportunities for new builds to shine. Even though Season 4 lacks an overall theme and mechanic, it does feature a good amount of new endgame content, including the Pit of Artificers dungeon, changes to how Helltides work, as well as a brand new Uber boss for players to test their builds against.
These builds have been selected based on their effectiveness in World Tier 3 and 4 content. We are going to be ranking them on this tier list based on how much damage they can do, how quickly they can move from pack to pack, and how tanky they feel in higher tier content, such as the Pit of Artificers and Uber bosses. Here is our list of the best Necromancer builds for Diablo 4 Season 4.

C Tier Necromancer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 4
The Sever Necromancer is one of the coolest looking builds in the game. The way it works is you send undead spectres that swipe their scythes in a huge AoE explosion that wipes the floor with all of your enemies. This is one of the better starter builds for the season, as it does not really require any specific items for it to be effective and it also provides you with a lot of chase items for the future, which can end up scaling the build enough to clear all of the endgame content with ease. If you are looking for a good build that you can take from the start of the game all the way through the hardest content available, Sever might be your build for Season 4!
This build remains largely unchanged in Season 4, and even though it is still very strong, some of the other options have received more support through the Tempering system. We still recommend Sever for the earlier stages of the late game.

B Tier Necromancer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 4
The Blood Surge Necromancer build has become a staple for the class and remains one of the stronger options for the early-to-mid stages of the endgame. Blood Surge is not only one of the strongest AoE abilities in the game, but the damage also scales based on the number of enemies, and you can also easily regenerate a ton of Source, making it almost infinitely sustainable. The build is also visually impressive and makes use of your minions, which some players will appreciate for the Necromancer class fantasy. It's insanely tanky and can deal amazing AoE damage, but it can be a bit lacking when dealing with bosses and elites. It's another amazing starter build that you can later switch around to something that scales better.
Blood Surge has received some extra support in Season 4 via the new Legendary item and the Tempered Manual affix. The new Cruor's Embrace Unique gloves make it so the Blood Surge consumes Corpses to cause mini-novas, dealing damage. This damage also ramps up based on the number of corpses, so there is a lot of potential there. The new Tempered Manual affix also increases the size of Blood Surge, making it even more effective.

One of the more versatile builds available to the Necromancer is Blood Lance. This build allows you to fire a small projectile that deals massive damage to everything it goes through. Blood Lance truly shines while clearing packs of minions, as the ability places a debuff on anyone it hits, linking them together and damaging them every time the skill hits an enemy. The build lacks focused single-target damage and will not perform the best against some of the stronger bosses in the game, but if you are looking for a strong and satisfying build to run dungeons with, Blood Lance might just be for you!
The only change to the Blood Lance skill in Season 4 is the addition of a new Tempering affix that increases its duration by a significant amount. This does not really change the placement of this build in the tier list, but it is a nice quality-of-life option that was greatly needed.

The Infinimist Necromancer is one of the best builds in the game for purely pushing higher-level dungeons, such as Nightmare Dungeons and the Pit of Artificers. This build uses a combination of Blood Mist, Corpse Explosion, and Decrepify to deal massive AoE damage to your enemies. The build does lack single-target damage and can struggle against bosses before it gets going, but once you have obtained some of the stronger items in the game, you are going to be cruising through all of the content. If you are looking for one of the best builds for running high-tier Nightmare Dungeons, as well as the new Pit of Artificers, consider trying out the Infinimist Necromancer!
Since the Infinimist Necromancer has a lot of different parts that make the build what it is, the new Tempering mechanic is going to give the build a ton of mileage, as well as some different variations. This build is looking in an amazing spot ahead of Season 4, as there are a ton of different ways to build it depending on the content you want to run.

S Tier Necromancer Builds For Diablo 4 Season 4
After almost an entire year of lackluster updates to the Summoner Necromancer build, it seems like Blizzard has overcorrected their stance on minions and buffed them a little too much. The Book of the Dead buffs, combined with all of the new ways to support your minions through Legendary Powers and the new Tempering affixes, have made the Summoner Necromancer the strongest build in Season 4 by far. This build can clear any content, including level 200 Pit runs, and the only thing you need to worry about is positioning yourself so you don't die. The build is easy to play, requires low actions-per-minute, and it scales to an absurd degree. We are expecting big nerfs to this build in the next season, so make sure to check out the Summoner Necromancer before it's too late!
