What is Threat Level in Diablo 4 Season 4?

Helltides in Diablo 4 Season 4 received a significant rework, making them a bit more interesting with a few new mechanics. One of these mechanics is Threat, which is a bar that you can find on the top-right of your screen, just below the amount of Cinders you have. This bar gets filled up based on the difficulty of the monsters you slay, as well as each time you open Tortured Gifts. There are three Threat Levels in total, and each level will increase the chance for you to become ambushed while also making all the enemies that spawn a lot more dangerous.

Once you fill up this bar, you will become Hell-Marked and be ambushed by several packs of monsters, with the Threat level slowly going down until it resets. If you manage to survive all the waves of enemies, a Hellborne is going to spawn, which is a very dangerous Elite that can drop enhanced rewards. Also, keep in mind that if you die at any point in the Helltide, your Threat level is going to reset and go back to the beginning.

You can also increase the rate at which you increase your Threat level with the new Profane Mindcage elixir, making it much easier to fill up the bar and increase the number of enemies that spawn. Making use of the new Threat system is going to make your Helltides much more rewarding, and you will also be able to complete your 'Notarized Nuisance' and 'Stem the Tide' Season Journey chapters.

That is everything you need to know about the new Threat system in the reworked Helltide events in Diablo 4. With this new feature in place, you are going to find Helltides much more dense with monsters, making them one of the most rewarding mechanics of Season 4.
