The next major Diablo 4 update has been a long time coming. After the relatively disappointing Season of the Construct combined with the release date of Season 4 being pushed back an entire month, players have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to return to the game. Season 4 marks the most significant update to the game since its release, with a total overhaul of the itemization system, numerous changes to the endgame, and a wide range of new activities to partake in. These core system changes are so substantial that Blizzard even opened up a Public Test Realm at the beginning of April for players to try them out and provide feedback.
However, the excitement surrounding the itemization rework and other features was somewhat tempered by the delay of Season 4 by an entire month. In this article, we will discuss the actual release date of Season 4 and go over the changes we can expect from Blizzard Entertainment.

Diablo 4 Season 4 Release Date & Details
Diablo 4 Season 4 is set to launch on May 14th, following a one-month delay due to the addition of the Public Test Realm. While Season 4 is not going to have a theme centered around it, as it's dubbed 'Loot Reborn,' it will have enough content added to the game that it will feel like a proper season. Players can expect the long-awaited itemization rework, which will allow them to interact much more with their items, with three different crafting systems in place that will make sure that the hunt for better loot is a lot more exciting and engaging.
Changes to the endgame are also coming, with Helltides receiving a ton of adjustments aimed at increasing the monster density in the world while also making it a lot more rewarding to farm. Aside from Helltides, the Uber Andariel boss fight has also been added to the game, giving players a second source of Uber Uniques. A brand new endgame dungeon, called the Pit of Artificers, is also arriving with Season 4, and it's going to be very similar to the Diablo 3 Greater Rift system, allowing players to test their characters against almost infinitely scaling content.
While all of these changes are more than enough to warrant their own season, players can also expect a small questline that involves the 'Iron Wolves' faction in Sanctuary. This is going to lead to a few extra rewards and a bit of lore for those who love the Diablo universe. With all of these features coming in less than two weeks, we are excited to see how they will be received by the community, as loot and endgame changes have definitely been the weakest part of the game so far.
