Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred is finally here, adding a ton of new content to the game, such as the Spiritborn class, the Mercenary system, the next chapter of the campaign, and many new additions to the endgame. There are so many ways to progress your character, not only through new Unique items but also through the glyph and leveling reworks introduced this season. A great way to explore all the new features is by progressing through your Seasonal Journey.

These tasks not only help you navigate the season's content based on your level, but also reward you with valuable in-game items. One of the new objectives in the Seasonal Journey is called "Damnation's Downfall" which requires defeating 5 Helltide Commanders. Since these commanders can be tricky to track down, we’re here to guide you through finding and defeating them.

Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Helltide Commander Locations

To locate Helltide Commanders in Diablo 4, you’ll first need to head to a zone affected by a Helltide. For a few seasons now, Helltides have become a continuous event, with just a brief 5-minute break between each one. Helltide Commanders appear at the conclusion of specific events scattered across the Helltide zone. These events are marked by orange circles, but they spawn randomly, so you may need to wait for the right one to appear. Below, we’ve showcased the various methods we’ve discovered for summoning and defeating Helltide Commanders:

• Portal Invasion: A Helltide Commander will always spawn at the end of a Portal Invasion event during Helltides. This event requires you to destroy 7 portals before the time runs out.

• Storm Summoner: A Helltide Commander will always spawn at the end of a Storm Summoner event during Helltides. This event requires you to destroy 5 different effigies before the time runs out.

• Kixxarth, Helltide Assassin: While it does not explicitly say that Kixxarth is a Helltide Commander, he does count towards the progress of the Seasonal Journey. You will be able to find this boss patrolling in different areas of the Helltide.
