Dragon's Dogma 2 offers a remarkable amount of freedom when it comes to exploration and player agency. Aside from a few story moments, the game is very reluctant in actually holding your hand, which allows you to create your own adventure in the world. The game feels very old-school in its approach and we expect many players to have entirely different experiences depending on how they choose to navigate the world around them.

Similar to other RPGs, Dragon's Dogma 2 features a day and night cycle in the game, which significantly changes how the world works around you based on the current time. In this article, we are going to show you where you can check the current time, as well as how you can switch between different stages of the day.

Even though the game does not directly offer this information, you can directly check the current time of day by opening up the pause menu. There is a big rotating ring around your world map, which changes depending on the time of day. You will be able to tell the current stages by looking at the Sun and Moon icons on this ring. Aside from this neat little UI element, you can tell the time of day through the intensity of the sun. If you keep adventuring for too long, the sun will start to set and your surroundings will become a lot darker.

Aside from just passing time while exploring, you can also choose whether or not you want to skip to the morning or nightfall. This can be done either through any Innkeeper in any of the minor and major cities or by camping out in the wilderness. Choosing to rest at an Inn is often going to cost you a good chunk of gold, so we recommend camping if you want to save up your money.

Once you set up your camp, you will be able to interact with your tent and choose when you want to wake up. Make sure to be well prepared if you are going to venturing into the night, as your surroundings are going to become a lot more dangerous.
