Dragon's Dogma 2 is full of side-quests that don't actually tell you what to do. The Arisen's Shadow is one of these quests. The only information you have is that someone is following you. You need to figure out who and why. Considering Dragon's Dogma 2 has an abundance of NPCs, especially in the towns, narrowing it down can be tricky.

This quest will begin when you are running around Vernworth, helping Captain Brant with a few missions. A vagabond will approach randomly and say they have witnessed someone following you around.

Dragon's Dogma 2: Who Is Stalking You in The Arisen's Shadow?

To spot your stalker in Dragon's Dogma 2, you will need to walk around Vernworth a little and keep an eye on the characters around you. The man who is following you is wearing a black hood and shawl. You will be able to tell him apart because he will be the only NPC that seems to keep his distance. Everyone else will be ignoring you and living their lives as they see fit.

If you try and approach the stalker, he will run. Plan your attack knowing you might have to chase him if he sees you coming. All you will have to do when you find him is get close enough to tackle him to the ground. Do not strike at him with any abilities or normal attacks. This will only set the guards on you and you can't apprehend your stalker from the prison

Dragon's Dogma 2: Should You Let Your Stalker Go?

When you have tackled your stalker in Dragon's Dogma 2, you can question him. He will tell you who he is and why he is following you. At the end of the conversation, you will have the choice to let him go or send him to the gaol. There is no right or wrong option here. Since you have captured him, he will no longer follow you so it all depends on what the rewards are.

  • Letting him go will give you an instant 5000 gold reward.
  • You can have him locked up and you receive 4000 gold from Captain Brant.

It's best just to let him go. It won't affect the story in any way and will save you a trip to Captain Brant to get your reward. Either way, you will have completed The Arisen's Shadow mission.
