Dune: Prophecy Humanity & Butlerian Jihad
The Hidden Hand starts with a bang, giving us an important flashback of the final battle of the Butlerian Jihad, which marked the end of the war. The voiceover is led by Valya Harkonnen, who explains to the viewers that it was an Atreides who led humanity to victory and House Harkonnen was perceived as cowardly. However, she ends up claiming that this is not the truth and she's here to prove it. After a few decades, Valya joins the Sisterhood with Tula. This group is specifically designed to train women to act as Truthsayers to the Great Houses.
Although Valya is perceived as an outcast because of her Herkonnen blood, when Mother Raquella asks to see her on her deathbed, they share a vision of a giant sandworm swallowing the Sisterhood in a desert. The mechanical blue eyes talking gibberish at the end only make the situation more tense, and when Raquella tells Valya that she will be the one to see the burning truth, the entire Sisterhood is shocked. Reverend Mother Dorotea threatens to destroy the genetic matrix, but Valya uses her power to command her to kill herself.
Dune: Prophecy Valya
Thirty years after these events, Valya is Mother Superior of the Sisterhood, and Tula is her advisor. Young girls from all over the galaxy are gathering to learn martial arts, Truthsaying, and brain anatomy. However, one of these girls is Princess Ynez Corrino, who is the heir to the Golden Lion Throne. She is there to spend the next decade training with the Sisterhood before rising to power, and the other students couldn't be more excited to see her. Valya tries to keep the order, as she's also the one who has to keep an eye on how the Great Houses behave.
As far as House Corrino is concerned, they are quite important, as they are the ones who rule the Imperium. Yenz has to marry the nine-year-old Pruwet Richese to keep the line stable, but there is plenty of time until he comes of age. Now Valya needs to make sure that Princess Ynez will join the Sisterhood so she can have a Sister on the throne when the time comes.

Dune: Prophecy Emperor Corrino & The Mysterious Stranger
Desmond Hart, who used to be a soldier for the Imperium, arrives right before the celebrations start. When he reaches the palace, he's warmly welcomed by Javicco, who even invites him to the engagement party. Desmond is quick to share that the attack he survived was carried out by other houses and not Fremen, which takes Javicco by surprise. In the meantime, Ynez realizes that the next ten years at the Sisterhood will allow her to prepare for the throne and control her husband when he comes of age. However, she's taken aback by Pruwet's lack of interest and stubbornness at the engagement ceremony.
When Hart arrives, Kasha gets a vision of Ynez wearing a red wedding dress while she's trying to escape from a sandworm trying to swallow her. The vision ends in the same way as the last one - with a pair of blue mechanical eyes. Kasha goes to Valya and begs her to stop the engagement between Ynez and Pruwet, but she refuses to call it off. Even Tula asks Valya to think whether Ynez is the best choice, but it seems absolutely pointless. After the party, Pruwet accidentally releases his robot, and Empress Natalya puts an end to the wedding since thinking machines are forbidden.
Dune: Prophecy Episode 1 Summary
Of course, Javicco saves Pruwet and says that it's not such a big deal. This makes Ynez lash out at Pruwet and go to a club in the Division neighborhood with her half-brother Constantine. There, she spends the night with Keiran Atreides. In the palace, Javicco talks to Desmond and tells him that he thinks the union between Ynez and Pruwet is wrong. Hart confesses that maybe banning the thinking machines wasn't the right choice as well, and perhaps there's something else going on in the Sisterhood. Later, Javicco finds a recording of the attack on Arrakis that shows Hart's division getting killed and him getting swallowed by a sandworm.
The same night, Hart runs into Pruwet and tells him that there's a war in plain sight and the boy burns on the inside. The same happens to Kasha. Fans are now wondering whether this is the burning truth mentioned at the beginning. Have fun and stay tuned; it only gets better!
