Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Meridian Ocean Protorelic Location

Let's have a look at the Phenomenon Intel missions in the Meridian Ocean and how to get your hands on the legendary Summon, Gilgamesh.

To gain access to the island where the Phenomenon Intel missions take place, you need to find all the Protorelics in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Each region has a different questline to work through before you earn the reward. These missions are optional but the legendary Summon you get at the end of the long road is worth it.

Not only do you need to have collected all Protorelics in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to start these Phenomenon Intel missions, but you will also need to obtain all available Summons. That doesn’t include the bonus Summons for pre-ordering the game.

You must also have each Summon at full strength. That means finding all Summon Shrines so Chadley can bolster your materia to the maximum level. If you have completed all of these steps, then you are ready to face Gilgamesh and earn his respect.

Unlike other Phenomenon Intel questlines, you have to complete the second, third, and fourth missions before the first. It might be a little confusing but the gate to the Gardens of Gilgamesh will not open until you have defeated the other Summons.

We recommend tackling these missions when you are level 70 because they are some of the most difficult battles in the game. If you have completed everything available in the game so far, you should be close to the max level anyway.

FF7 Rebirth: Phenomenon Intel 2: The Bladesman of Legend

You must fight your Summons at full strength to complete the second Phenomenon Intel mission in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. You won’t be battling them one by one but they are teaming up to make you prove your worth. Your map will automatically show their locations.

The first fight is against Titan and Bahamut. Neither Summon is easy and it doesn’t really matter who you prioritize. We suggest focusing on Titan first because he is the weakest. Be sure to equip revival materia because you may need it if Bahamut’s Gigaflare hits you.

FF7 Rebirth: Phenomenon Intel 3: The Genji Armaments

Kujata and Phoenix are your next opponents in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Keep in mind that technically you will need to defeat Kujata twice in this Phenomenon Intel mission. At the beginning of the fight, Phoenix has a tether to Kujata and you will not be able to harm it.

Start with the focus on Kujata. As soon as you defeat him, be sure to heal up because Phoenix will cast Rebirth Flame that not only revives Kujata but deals serious damage to your party. Target Phoenix now the tether has broken so he cannot heal Kujata again. When you defeat Phoenix, turn your focus back to Kujata.

FF7 Rebirth: Phenomenon Intel 4: Shrine of the Full Moon

In the north of the island in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the next Phenomenon Intel mission will have you face Odin and Alexander. Odin is the true challenge here with his Zantetsuken ability, which will instantly kill your entire party. Odin also has no weaknesses so prepare for the fight of your lives.

We recommend equipping Revival Earrings to all members of your chosen party. These will auto-revive you when you die. Also, have Phoenix as your Summon so you can use the Reraise ability to give yourself another auto-revive.

Equip Cloud’s Umbral Blade as its Reprieve weapon ability lets you survive a death blow. Revival materia will come in handy as well. These are all to make sure you survive Odin’s potential Zantetsuken

When you start the fight, focus on Odin. Your goal should be evading all his attacks, and hitting him with range ATB abilities to weaken him. Each time he lands a hit on your party, he gets closer to casting Zantetsuken. Do not try and block Odin because that counts as a hit. He will retreat from battle when you have dealt significant damage. Don’t get confident, as he will be back.

While Odin is gone, attack Alexander. Target his arms to stagger him. Keep dealing as much damage as you can and Odin will return with a small amount of health regained. Defeat Alexander before bothering with Odin.

FF7 Rebirth: Phenomenon Intel 1: Gilgamesh Gardens

Now you have defeated all the Summons yet again, you can face Gilgamesh. The amnesic samurai only deals physical damage so cast Barrier on all members. Use Regen to heal your party gradually and focus on dealing damage with Cloud. Keep everyone’s ATB abilities and Limit Breaks ready for when you stagger Gilgamesh.

With skill and a great deal of luck, you should be able to come out the other side of these battles. I hope you found this guide helpful. Now you have Gilgamesh as a Summon, you are one step closer to completing everything the game has to offer.
