Once you complete the main storyline, you'll be able to start a new game and carry over your character progress. You can select the game mode from the start menu. Here is what you can expect in New Game+ mode:

Final Fantasy New Game Plus: Carry Over

  • Clive's level, stats, unlocked abilities, equipment, and item inventory
  • Clive's potion capacity and healing upgrades

Final Fantasy New Game Plus: Changes

  • Enemies stay the same level as they were in the base game, making most of the game very easy with Clive's most powerful gear
  • Arcade Mode progress and scores do not carry over
  • There are no changes to the story or side quests

If you're looking for a real challenge, you'll enjoy this one. This is basically the hardcore mode of the game, and you can only play it through New Game+. To turn it on, select New Game+ from the start menu, then choose Final Fantasy mode instead of Story Focused or Action Focused. Here is what you can expect during Final Fantasy mode:

Final Fantasy Mode: Carry Over

  • Clive's level, stats, unlocked abilities, equipment, and item inventory are carried over
  • Clive's potion capacity and healing upgrades are carried over

Final Fantasy Mode: Changes

  • Clive's level cap is increased to 100
  • All equipment can be enhanced
  • New gear to craft
  • All enemies are more powerful, with increased levels and stats
  • Enemy types are remixed and replaced in dungeons
  • Enemies are more aggressive towards Clive
  • Chronolith Trials are remixed and made much more difficult
  • Arcade Mode and Stage Replay reflect the remixed dungeons
  • There are no changes to the story or side quests in Final Fantasy Mode, aside from the remixed enemy encounters
