Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Episode 23: Recap

In Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, episode 23, we witness the commencement of the second exam. Sense reveals that the exam will be a dungeon raid that participants must finish by dawn. To complete the exam, all mages should reach the deepest point of the Ruin of the King's Tomb. Sense also provides all participants with a rescue bottle that allows mages to escape the dungeon upon breaking. However, anyone who uses it will be eliminated from the exam.

As the participants were contemplating their strategies, Denken suggested that everyone team up and explore the dungeon together. However, his proposal was overlooked by the others, and most of the team worked on their own.

Soon, we discover that the dungeon is very complicated and filled with many tough and hidden traps. The toughest challenge of the dungeon turns out to be stone replicas of each of the participants that attack them. Somehow, there are duplicates of each mage with the same powers as them.

The episode ends with a very intense scene, as Denken and his group come across a stone replica of Frieren.
