Hades 2 has finally arrived, and it has quickly become one of the best games that has been released this year. It keeps all of the best aspects from the original, from the amazing story and voice acting to the fun and chaotic combat, and it also adds brand new features on top of it. With new characters, boons, areas, and enemies, as well as the switch to a different protagonist, Supergiant Games have made a massive amount of improvements upon what was already considered one of the best roguelikes ever made. There are a lot of new progression systems in the game, which are going to slowly make each run a little easier, while also giving you more options in terms of boons, rooms, and rewards.

One of the main forms of progression in Hades 2 is called 'Grasp of the Arcana', and in this article, we are going to explain how it works and why you should be focusing on it, so you have an easier time in the earlier stages of the game.

Hades 2: How to Increase Your Grasp

The 'Grasp of the Arcana' system is one of the main ways of progressing in Hades 2. You can unlock and use different Arcana Cards, which have a wide range of bonuses that you will be able to take into your next run. From Death Defiance charges to more damage and health, this system is very similar to the Mirror of the Night in the original Hades game. Each of these cards requires a certain amount of Grasp in order to use, and Melinoe has limited slots which can be filled up by selecting them.

In order to slot more Arcana Cards, you are going to need to increase your Grasp slots, which can be done by spending a certain amount of Psyche. Each time you add another slot, the cost is increased, and you will eventually be able to use a lot more Arcana Cards. These cards can also be changed between runs, so you can specialize in certain builds even before you start your next night of fighting. All of this can be accessed by going to the Altar of Ashes next to the main training area of the Crossroads hub.

Make sure to collect as much Psyche as possible, as increasing your Grasp at the beginning of the game is going to be one of the biggest power spikes you can have, as all of the different Arcana Card bonuses are essential for progressing through the game.
