Hades is known for being one of the best rogue-lites ever made, and it's mostly because of how all of the different aspects of the game are at a very high quality. The story, the voice acting, the visuals, and animations are all amazing, but the strongest aspect of the game is definitely the combat. The game feels like a true action RPG, with fluid animations, fast-paced movement, and a ton of variety when it comes to enemy and boss design. With each run being a little different from the last, players can expect to find hundreds of hours of content without ever getting bored.
Hades 2 continues this trend and adds even more moves and choices you can make during each battle, and one of these new features is called Omega moves. In this article, we are going to explain what Omega moves are, how you can use them, and how they are going to affect the combat when compared to the original.

Hades 2: What Are Omega Moves?
Omega moves in Hades 2 are charged attacks that cost a certain amount of Magick (which is the blue bar above your health) to use but have really strong effects and can deal devastating damage. There are three types of Omega moves, and each of them is an empowered version of one of your attacks, which includes your regular attack, your special, and your cast. In order to use an Omega move, you have to hold down the button of the attack you want to empower. For example, if you want to use the Omega version of your regular attack, you have to hold down the attack key, and you will see a blue circle above your head indicating the amount of Magick it will cost.
Since Magick is a limited resource in Hades 2, you are going to have to use these empowered moves sparingly or you can try and create a build around them by using your Arcana Cards, Keepsakes, and any boons you find inside your runs.

Omega moves are also different depending on the weapon you are using, so make sure to try them all out while you are in the training room. They can also be upgraded through boons, and you can create some very interesting builds during your runs if you get the right upgrades. Make sure to focus on increasing your Magick and finding ways of regenerating it, so you can use as many Omega moves as possible during your runs. This also ties into the Hex mechanic, which are abilities that can be used only after you spend a certain amount of Magick in your current room, so there is a ton of systems that support a spellcasting playstyle in Hades 2.
That is everything you need to know about Omega moves in Hades 2. As a brand new mechanic introduced into this sequel, it might take you some time before you get used to using these empowered attacks, but don't underestimate them as they can quickly become the strongest tools in your arsenal.
