Helldivers 2 continues to set the standard for live-service games in 2024, with new content being added seemingly every week for the past few months. Recently, we saw brand new enemy types joining the Automaton faction, with the Factory Strider and the Gunships making their debut. Additionally, the Democratic Detonation Warbond was released, offering players new ways to create explosive chaos on the field, with fresh primary and secondary weapons, as well as new armor types. The inclusion of the Quasar Cannon and the HMG were also significant for the game, as new Stratagems provide a plethora of options for each mission, enabling players to create innovative loadouts.

Helldivers 2: New Airburst Rocket Launcher Stratagem Released

The new RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher is now available for purchase under the Patriotic Administration Center section of the Stratagem menu on your ship. It costs 8,000 Requisition Slips and, similar to other support weapon Stratagems, it has a 3-second call-in time, 480 seconds of cooldown, while also having an unlimited amount of uses per mission. The Airburst Rocket Launcher is designed to be used in long-range engagements, as it fires a rocket that explodes into a cluster of explosives. This weapon is great at targeting Bug Holes and Automaton Fabricators from a longer range, and it's also great for dealing with flying enemies, such as Shriekers.

The Airburst Rocket Launcher also comes with its own ammunition backpack, which can be used by your teammates to help you reload at a much faster pace. This weapon is currently in a weird spot, as it's not really as good as some of the other options in the game and there are no real situations in which you are going to specifically want to take it with you. Once the game adds more flying enemies or there are more mission objectives which require you to play from a longer range, it could become useful, but for now it's a bit underwhelming.
