Hogwarts Legacy 2: Official Teaser
On Tuesday, Warner Bros. Discovery’s chief financial officer spoke directly about the company's goals regarding releasing a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy. Gunnar Wiedenfels said during an interview at Bank of America’s 2024 Media, Communications & Entertainment Conference:
Obviously, a successor to Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road, so there is certainly a significant growth contribution from that [games] business in our strategic outlook here.
- Gunnar Wiedenfels, WBD CFO.
So yes, it's official - Warner Bros. Games are going to be working on a Hogwarts Legacy sequel for us... obviously.
Community Reaction to Hogwarts Legacy 2
Everyone is thrilled to know that's not the end of the immersive RPG. Fans are speculating about what possible new features the sequel might include, as well as whether Warner Bros. Games will include features that were promised in Hogwarts Legacy, but not delivered. Reddit users are quick to point out:
Let's hope they do not skimp on what they originally planned again...A system for tracking using dark arts, quidditch, better social interactions like a ‘friend scale’ with other characters, lots of it was left in the code unfinished.

A lot of fans wish for multiplayer co-op, Quidditch games, new tamable beasts, and some more features for more replay-ability value. Updates of the Hogwarts castle are also among the desired features of the potential sequel.
Some players speculate about the timeline of the plot that the sequel might explore. How far along would we be in our Hogwarts journey? Would Dumbledore be a part of our adventures? Reddit users discuss:
Direct sequel with our character(s) in their Sixth Year maybe...It just makes too much sense. It’ll speed up development time as well, they’ll be able resume much of the previous map. I do hope they add more locations and update the Castle itself though.

With that in mind, we see there's room to add plenty to the successor of Hogwarts Legacy and fan's expectations are high. For now, we can all speculate and impatiently wait for the next official update.
Summary
We don't know how long from now, but we definitely know it's coming. Hogwarts Legacy 2 is going to be Warner Bros. Games' priority for the upcoming years and we are all stoked.
Earlier this year Warner Bros. Games chief David Haddad noted that many players have revisited Hogwarts Legacy since its release in 2023 and completed the game multiple times to reveal all the storylines. And you bet I'll be doing the same until the sequel drops.
We can only guess what other surprises Warner Bros. Games has up their sleeves. Hopefully our gaming experience with the fictional world of Harry Potter will just keep getting more and more immersive. Expelliarmus!
