For around 20 years, the Yakuza series has strictly been a part of the beat-em-up action genre, creating some of the most iconic martial arts fights in the gaming space. A few years ago, the developers over at Ryu Ga Gotoku decided that it's time for a change, with the next installment in the series, called Yakuza: Like a Dragon, becoming a part of the turn-based JRPG genre.
Games with turn-based combat tend to be very polarizing, with some players enjoying the in-depth strategies and choices you can make in each turn, while others simply find it boring or too difficult and overwhelming. In this article, we are going to take a look at the difficulty settings of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, to see if there are accessibility options for both veterans and new players of the genre.

How to Change the Difficulty of Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth
Similar to the last title in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth does not have any difficulty options for your first playthrough of the game. You will only be able to play on the 'Normal' difficulty setting for the entire game. The only place where you can change the difficulty is for New Game+, which becomes available after beating the game for the first time.
The New Game+ situation is also convoluted, as this game mode is only available for players who have the Master Vacation bundle, which can be bought through the Deluxe edition of the game or straight from the shop.
Includes:
- New Game+ (Normal, Hard, Legend)
Enjoy the game all over again, carrying over the progress you've made. Please note that some elements, such as substories and bonding events between teammates, will begin anew.

Basically, the only way to change the settings of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is by buying the Master Vacation bundle DLC and beating the game. This will allow you to change the difficulty of your New Game+ run if you choose to do so. This is definitely not a standard practice in the gaming industry, and the developers have received a lot of negative feedback based on this choice. As of this moment, the Master Vacation bundle sits at 'Very Negative' in terms of reviews on Steam.
That is everything you need to know about the difficulty settings of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. We definitely hope that SEGA receives a significant amount of pushback for this decision, so game modes are not part of paid DLCs for the future Yakuza games in the series.
